Triplemanía XVII was a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by the AAA promotion, which took place on June 13, 2009 at the Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City, Mexico. It was the year an event was held under the Triplemanía chronology. Triplemanía XVII was the third Triplemanía event to take place in Mexico City, and the second to take place in Palacio de los Deportes, site of the previous Triplemanía XVI as well. The show drew close to 16.000 spectators, down from the previous years 19.000 spectators in the same venue. The Triplemanía set reduced the capacity of the arena compared to the previous year but it was not a complete sell out.
The Mexican National Mini-Estrella Championship, also referred to as the Mexican National Minis Championship, is an inactive professional wrestling championship sanctioned by Comisión de Box y Lucha Libre Mexico D.F.. While the commission sanctioned the title, it did not promote the events at which the championship was defended. Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) promoted the events and had the everyday control of the championship. The championship was exclusively for wrestlers in the Mini-Estrellas, or Minis, division. A "Mini" is not necessarily a person with dwarfism, as in North American Midget wrestling; wrestlers who do not have dwarfism but are very short also work in the Mini-Estrellas division. As it was a professional wrestling championship, it was not won legitimately; it was instead won via a scripted ending to a match or awarded to a wrestler because of a storyline. All title matches took place under two out of three falls rules.
The 2008 Antonio Peña Memorial Show was the second show held in honor of the deceased Antonio Peña, owner and creator of the Mexican Lucha Libre, or professional wrestling, company AAA. The show was held near the second anniversary of Peña's death from a heart attack. The main focus of the show was the second annual Copa Antonio Peña which was won by El Mesias as he survived a 13-man Gauntlet match defeating Pirata Morgan, El Elegido, Psicosis II, Dark Escoria, Silver King, Crazy Boy and Dark Cuervo one by one to win the Copa. The main event of the show saw La Legión Extranjera defeat "Team AAA". As a result of the win Konnan became the storyline owner of AAA. In the third main event of the evening Cibernético successfully defended the AAA Mega Championship against Chessman and El Zorro. The event has since been retrospectively renamed Héroes Inmortales II.

The show was held approximately one year after Peña died of a heart attack. The main focus of the show was the first ever Copa Antonio Peña which was won by Charly Manson as he survived a 12-man gauntlet match eliminating Alan Stone, Konnan and Scott Hall to win the Copa. Also on the show was a Domo De La Muerte cage match that saw Chessman come out as the loser in the match and thus had to have his hair shaved off. The undercard featured four additional matches. The show also saw the surprise return of Nicho El Millonario and Electroshock and the surprise appearance of Scott Hall. The event has since been retrospectively renamed Héroes Inmortales I.
Guerra de Titanes (2009) was the thirteenth annual Guerra de Titanes professional wrestling show promoted by AAA since 1997. The show took place on December 11, 2009 in the Ciudad Madero, Tamaulipas Convention center, a site that AAA has used for many of their major shows. Guerra de Titanes is AAA's "End of year" show and the fifth of their "big shows" they hold every year. The Main Event saw Dr. Wagner Jr. defend the AAA Mega Championship against El Mesias in a Domo De La Muerte cage match. The show also featured two AAA championship matches as Nicho el Millonario and Joe Líder defended the AAA World Tag Team Championship and Mini Charly Manson defended the AAA World Mini-Estrella Championship. Furthermore a "Mask vs. Hair", Lucha de Apuesta match between Faby Apache and Sexy Star took place as well. Finally the show featured a Six-man "Lucha Libre rules" tag team match and a four on four "AAA vs. La Legion Extranjera elimination match where the winner would receive a title match for the AAA Mega Championship as AAA's 2010 Rey de Reyes show.
Nygma is a Mexican Luchador, or professional wrestler best known from his appearances in the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) which he has worked for with only short breaks since 1995/1996. Nygma has been a member of Los Vatos Locos, a Kiss look-alike group of wrestlers, with whom he held the Mexican National Atómicos Championship. Nygma was also a part of the Cibernético led group Los Bizarros. Currently, he is part of a team called Los Exóticos, a group of Exotico, or transvestite wrestlers. Nygma's real name is not a matter of public record, as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico where their private lives are kept a secret from the wrestling fans.

Mini Abismo Negro is the ring name of a Mexican Luchador enmascarado who works in the Mini-Estrella division for Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA). Mini Abismo Negro is a former, two time Mexican National Mini-Estrellas Champion and the former AAA World Mini-Estrella Champion, the only wrestler to hold both titles. Mini Abismo Negro's real name is not a matter of public record, as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico where their private lives are kept a secret from the wrestling fans. Working in the Mini division does not automatically mean that he has dwarfism as several short wrestlers work in the "Mini" division, including Mini Abismo Negro.
Triplemanía XVIII was a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by the AAA promotion that took place on June 6, 2010 at the Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City, Mexico. The show featured eight with the main events being a "dream match" between L.A. Park and La Parka with the rights to the La Parka name on the line as well as Electroshock defending the AAA Mega Championship against Dr. Wagner Jr. The show also featured a performance by El Tri, a Mexican blues/hard rock band after the wrestling portion of the show was over. All four title matches of the event saw the championship change hands, the show also featured appearances of wrestlers from competing wrestling promotions International Wrestling Revolution Group and Los Perros del Mal. The main event between L.A. Park and La Parka originally saw L.A. Park pin La Parka. Later on it was announced that the result thrown out by the Mexico City Boxing and Wrestling Commission due to outside interference, ruling it a no-contest, but the decision was reversed the next day as AAA declared that L.A. Park had earned the rights to the name "La Parka" with his victory. However, three days later AAA announced that they would respect the Commission's decision and declared the match thrown out.
Arturo Santos Hernández is a Mexican Luchador or professional wrestler and bodybuilder, best known by his ring name Mini Charly Manson. For years he worked in the Mini-Estrella division for Lucha Libre AAA World Wide (AAA), and was the first holder of the AAA World Mini-Estrella Championship. After leaving AAA, he uses the ring name Tiago, in competition on the independent circuit against regular sized competitors. He is not to be confused Charly Manson Jr. who sometimes works under the name Mini Charly Manson.
Rolando Fuentes Romero is a Mexican Luchadorenmascarado better known under the ring name Mini Histeria. Fuentes works for Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA) in their Mini-Estrellas division. Fuentes is the son of Luchador Rocco Marvin and the brother of Ricky Marvin. He previously worked as Rocky Marvin. winning the Mexican National Mini-Estrella Championship under that name. As Mini Histeria he is part of Los Mini Vipers along with Mini Abismo Negro and Mini Psicosis. Working in the Mini division does not necessarily mean that Fuentes has dwarfism as several short wrestlers work in the "Mini" division, including Rolando Fuentes.
Enrique Del Rio is a Mexican Luchadorenmascarado, or masked professional wrestler who has worked for Lucha Libre AAA World Wide's (AAA) Mini-Estrella division since AAA was founded in 1992. Del Rio currently works under the ring name Mini Psicosis, a smaller version of Psicosis II, and is a former AAA World Mini-Estrella Champion. Until 2008 he worked as Jerrito Estrada, a smaller version of the wrestler Jerry Estrada. As Estrada Del Rio has held the Mexican National Mini-Estrella Championship once, being the shortest reigning champion in the title's history. Working in the Mini division does not automatically mean that he has dwarfism as several short wrestlers work in the "Mini" division, including Enrique Del Rio.
Mascarita Divina is the ring name of a Mexican Luchadorenmascarado, or masked professional wrestler. Divina works for Lucha Libre AAA World Wide in their Mini-Estrella division. Mascarita Divina's name is Spanish for "Little Divine Mask", taken after the name of the regular sized Máscara Divina who he's a mascota version off. Mascarita Divina's real name is not a matter of public record, as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico where their private lives are kept a secret from the wrestling fans. Working in the Mini division does not automatically mean that he has dwarfism as several short wrestlers work in the "Mini" division. Octagoncito is a Mexican Luchadorenmascarado, or masked professional wrestler who works for Lucha Libre AAA World Wide's (AAA) Mini-Estrella division. He is the second wrestler to work under the ring name Octagoncito, being given the name after the original Octagoncito left AAA, although he still wrestles under the name on the independent circuit. Octagoncito's real name is not a matter of public record, as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico where their private lives are kept a secret from the wrestling fans. Working in the Mini division does not necessarily mean that he has dwarfism, as several short wrestlers work in the "Mini" division.
Flavia Antonia Moreno León is a Mexican Luchadora, or female professional wrestler, best known under the ring name Cynthia Moreno She is working for Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA). Moreno is a part of an extended wrestling family that includes her father Alfonso Moreno, her brother who wrestles as El Oriental and her sisters, Esther, Alda, and Rossy Moreno. She is a former two-time holder of the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championship with her brother El Oriental.
Mario González Lozano is a Mexican Luchador, or professional wrestler, who works as an Exótico for the Mexican Lucha Libre AAA World Wide promotion and Lucha Underground under the ring name Pimpinela Escarlata. As Escarlata he is a former AAA Reina de Reinas Champion, Mexican National Middleweight Champion and AAA World Mixed Tag Team Champion. His ring name is Spanish for "The Scarlet Pimpernel" and is taken from the fictional character of the same name.
La Parkita is a Mexican Luchadorenmascarado who works in the Mini-Estrella division for Lucha Libre AAA World Wide (AAA). He is the third wrestler to compete as La Parkita and is at times denoted as "La Parkita III" or "La Parkita (AAA)". La Parkita's real name is not a matter of public record, as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico where their private lives are kept a secret from the wrestling fans. Working in the Mini division does not automatically mean that he has dwarfism as several short wrestlers work in the "Mini" division.
The term Mini-Estrella is used in lucha libre to describe a division of short professional wrestlers or luchadors, some of whom have dwarfism. The Mexican Mini-Estrellas is comparable to Midget wrestling practiced around the world, but with the notable exception that some of the Mini-Estrellas do not have dwarfism but are simply short. Some Mini-Estrellas have later on moved on to work as regular sized competitors. The Mini-Estrellas have been featured in several promotions outside Mexico, most notably World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA).
Saúl Armendáriz is an American-born Mexican luchador, or professional wrestler, who works as an exótico for several independent promotions all over the world under the ring name Cassandro. He is a former NWA World Welterweight and UWA World Lightweight Champion. In 2009, Armendáriz signed a contract with American promotion Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), but was released before making his official debut.
