The Beast Mortos (born March 11, 1987), better known by his former ring name Black Taurus, is a Mexican luchador enmascarado, or masked professional wrestler. He is currently signed to All Elite Wrestling. He also performs in their sister company Ring of Honor.

He is primarily known for his work for Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, International Wrestling Revolution Group, Lucha Libre Elite, The Crash Lucha Libre, Impact Wrestling, Major League Wrestling, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla as well as on the Mexican and independent circuit. His real name is not a matter of public record as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico.

Professional wrestling career

Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (2008–2011)

After wrestling for years in the Torreón area under the name Semental, he would move to Mexico City in 2008. After a short stint with International Wrestling Revolution Group, he would start working in Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre in March 2008. He wrestled regularly for CMLL for over three years, generally working opening matches that rarely made TV. He had his last match for the promotion on June 28, 2011 and then showed up in AAA two days later. [1]

Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (2012–2016)

He made his AAA debut June 30 in Tizayuca, still under the name Semental. He would have two more TV matches for the promotion in 2011. [2]

In mid-2012 AAA introduced a new masked trio known as Los Inferno Rockers [3] (Machine Rocker, Devil Rocker and Soul Rocker), a trio of masked, glam-rocker inspired wrestlers who resembled the rock band Kiss. [4] [5] It was later verified that the former Tito Santana was under the Soul Rocker mask. The trio was set up as the rivals of Los Psycho Circus (Psycho Clown, Murder Clown and Monster Clown), who at the time had been undefeated for years. They later introduced the 201 cm (6 ft 7 in) tall Uro Rocker to the team, targeting Psycho Clown specifically. [6] It was later revealed that Uro Rocker was supposed to be the main rival of Psycho Clown, but the wrestler playing the part hurt wrestlers he worked with and was quickly dropped from the group. [7]

The group lost to Los Psycho Circus at the 2012 Guerra de Titanes show, their first appearance at a major AAA show. [8] 18 days later the trio wrestled International Wrestling Revolution Group's Los Oficiales (Oficial 911, Oficial AK-47 and Oficial Fierro) in one of the featured matches on the Arena Naucalpan 35th Anniversary Show when the match ended in a double pinfall. [9] In early 2013 Los Inferno Rockers finally defeated Los Psycho Circus, gaining some momentum in their ongoing feud. [10] They repeated the feat at the 2012 Rey de Reyes show, seemingly escalating their feud towards a Lucha de Apuestas , or "bet match" where the teams would put their masks on the line. [11] [12] The Apuestas match never happened and Los Inferno Rockers were soon diverted from Los Psycho Circus. In later 2013 Devil Rocker left AAA and was replaced by Demon Rocker to remain a trio. [13] a member of the Los Inferno Rockers stable. [14] The team was phased out throughout 2014, with Demon Rocker taking over the "La Parka Negra" character. By early 2015 Machine Rocker no longer appeared on AAA shows either. On October 4, 2015 Machine Rocker was repackaged and introduced as "Taurus", signaling the end of Los Inferno Rockers as a unit won a Royal Rumble Lumberjack match to win the Copa Antonio Peña. [15]

On September 10, 2016, Taurus announced his departure from AAA.

Lucha Libre Elite (2016)

Taurus debut as Black Tauro with Lucha Libre Elite teaming with Cibernetico and Sharlie Rockstar was defeated by Decnis, Mr. Aguila & Zumbido. [16] On November 10, Tauro teaming with Rey Escorpión defeat L.A. Park & Mr. Aguila. [17]

Return to AAA (2018–2024)

On June 1, 2018, Taurus returned to the AAA after helping to retain the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship of Faby Apache, in front of Ashley. [18] On August 10, 2019, Taurus lost a title match for the AAA Mega Championship to champion Fénix, the match also included Laredo Kid and Puma King.

On January 11, 2024, Taurus announced that he had departed AAA for a second time and was now a free agent. [19]

Impact Wrestling (2019)

Due to AAA's alliance with American promotion Impact Wrestling, Taurus made a special appearance on the February 1, 2019 edition of Impact Wrestling, which was taped January 11–12, 2019 at Mexico City's Frontón México Entertainment Center, teaming with Lucha Brothers (Pentagon Jr. & Fénix) defeated The Latin American Exchange (Ortiz & Santana) and Daga. Major League Wrestling (2019)

On March 2, 2019 at MLW Fusion , Taurus made his debut in Major League Wrestling teaming with Laredo Kid, losing to Lucha Brothers (Pentagon Jr. & Rey Fenix). [21]

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (2019–present)

On July 26, 2019 at the "SIXTEEN" event, Taurus made his debut at Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG), losing with Laredo Kid and Puma King against Mexablood (Bandido & Flamita) and Rey Horus.

Return to Impact (2021–2024)

On the February 9, 2021 edition of Impact Wrestling, Taurus made his return to Impact Wrestling on a more regular basis, when Rosemary and Crazzy Steve introduced him as the newest member of their stable Decay, soon afterwards picking up a quick victory over Kaleb with a K. [22]

All Elite Wrestling / Ring of Honor (2023–present)

On December 15, 2023 at Final Battle, Taurus made his Ring of Honor (ROH) debut, challenging El Hijo del Vikingo for the AAA Mega Championship in a losing effort. On the December 22 episode of AEW Rampage, Taurus made his debut for the sister company of ROH, All Elite Wrestling (AEW). He once again challenged Vikingo for the AAA Mega Championship in a losing effort. On January 18, 2024, Luchablog reported that Taurus had signed with AEW, however he will not be able to use the "Black Taurus" name or character as AAA owned the gimmick. [23] On April 5 at Supercard of Honor Zero Hour, Taurus returned to ROH, now wearing a new mask and under the new ring name The Beast Mortos, defeating Blake Christian. [24]

Los Perros del Mal was a Mexican Lucha libre wrestling group stable, originally competed in Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre and in Lucha Libre AAA World Wide (AAA). The name is a play on the name of the founder of the group, Perro Aguayo Jr. It was one of the main rudo (heel) stables in CMLL until October 2008, when Aguayo along with Mr. Águila and Damián 666 left the company to form Perros del Mal Producciones. The stable is a part of the new promotion, despite its namesake. Their motto is "Dios perdona, los Perros no". The group originally started under the name La Furia del Norte but evolved into Los Perros del Mal as wrestlers not from northern Mexico joined the group.

Perros del Mal Producciones, often referred to as just 'Perros del Mal', was a Mexican professional wrestling promotion founded in October 2007 by Perro Aguayo, Jr. when he left Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre and became inactive around 2015. The promotion shared a name with Aguayo, Jr.'s wrestling stable (group) Los Perros del Mal and the stable is the main Rudo (villain) group in the promotion. The promotion had an "open door policy" which meant they did not generally have wrestlers under contract but hired them on a per appearance basis. Perros del Mal was also a booking agency, responsible for hiring the core Perros del Mal group and others to various independent promotions all over Mexico.

<i>Los Psycho Circus</i> Professional wrestling stable

Los Psycho Circus is a Lucha libre, or professional wrestling, trio who worked for the Mexico City based Lucha Libre AAA World Wide (AAA) as a rudo team. The trio consists of three enmascarado, or masked, wrestlers known under the ring names Psycho Clown, Monster Clown and Murder Clown. They are former two-time AAA World Trios Champions and were also the last holders of the Mexican National Atómicos Championship with Chessman. Los Psycho Circus is most known for an exaggerated undefeated streak since their debut in 2007, they are announced as having won over 600 matches. The streak came to an end in December 2010.

Murder Clown is the ring name of a Mexican Luchadorenmascarado, or masked professional wrestler currently signed to Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA). Murder Clown's ring character is that of a nightmarish clown and he is part of Los Psycho Circus along with Monster Clown and Psycho Clown. Murder Clown's real name is not a matter of public record, as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico where their private lives are kept a secret from the wrestling fans.

Psycho Clown is the ring name of a Mexican luchadorenmascarado, or masked professional wrestler currently signed to Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA). Psycho Clown's real name is not a matter of public record, as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico where their private lives are kept a secret from wrestling fans. Part of the Alvarado wrestling family, he is the son of José Alvarado Nieves, who wrestled under the ring name Brazo de Plata, and has previously worked as Brazo de Plata Jr. in tribute to his father. The AAA World Trios Championship is a professional wrestling championship promoted by the Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA) promotion in Mexico. It is contested for by teams of three wrestlers. The creation of the title was first announced in May 2011, when AAA started a tournament, set to end at Triplemanía XIX, to determine the first champions. The physical belts were designed and crafted by All Star Championship Belts.

Fénix is a Mexican luchador enmascarado. He is currently signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW) where he is a former AEW International Champion. He also appears for AEW's sister promotion, Ring of Honor (ROH), where he is a previous holder of the ROH World Tag Team Champions with his older brother, Penta El Zero Miedo.

Ignacio Patiño, better known under the ring names Soul Rocker and Tito Santana is a Mexican luchador, or professional wrestler, currently working for Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA). He is the son of retired luchador Kendor and actually worked as Kendor II early in his career. From 2005 through 2012, he used the name Tito Santana, although he is not related to the better-known Tito Santana. He began using the name again in 2017 after losing his mask. As Soul Rocker he wore wrestling gear reminiscent of the elaborate stage costumes of the rock group Kiss.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Triplemanía XXXI</span> 2023 Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide event

Triplemanía XXXI was a three-day professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event promoted and produced by the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide. The event was held on April 16, July 15, and August 12, 2023. The April 16 event took place at Mobil Super Stadium in Monterrey, the July 15 event took place at Chevron Stadium in Tijuana, and the August 12 event took place at Mexico City Arena in Mexico City. It marked the 31st year in a row that AAA has held a Triplemanía show and comprises the 40th, 41st, and 42nd overall shows promoted under the Triplemanía banner since 1993. The annual Triplemanía show is AAA's biggest event of the year, serving as the culmination of major storylines in what has been described as AAA's version of WrestleMania or their Super Bowl event. The event aired on PPV via the FITE service.

Arturo Hernández Herrada was a Mexican professional wrestler who wrestled under the ring name Picudo. He was best known for his appearances in the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) which he had worked for from 1992 to 2009 and again from 2012 to 2013. As Picudo, Hernández was a member of Los Vatos Locos, a Kiss look-alike group of wrestlers, with whom he held the Mexican National Atómicos Championship. In 2012, he returned to AAA under the ring name Devil Rocker, with who he was introduced as part of a group called Los Inferno Rockers. As both Picudo and Devil Rocker, Hernández wore wrestling gear reminiscent of the elaborate stage costumes of the rock group Kiss.
