Steppenwolf was a Canadian-American rock band, prominent from 1968 to 1972. The group was formed in late 1967 in Los Angeles by lead singer John Kay, keyboardist Goldy McJohn, and drummer Jerry Edmonton, all formerly of the Canadian band the Sparrows. Guitarist Michael Monarch and bass guitarist Rushton Moreve were recruited via notices placed in Los Angeles-area record and musical instrument stores.

The Estonian rock music scene saw its beginnings in the mid-sixties during Nikita Khrushchev's thaw in the Soviet Union and the rise of British bands all over the world. The first Estonian rock-groups were primarily high school bands playing cover versions of the current UK Top 10. Despite the lack of official support from Soviet authorities some of these groups, posing as dance music bands in various clubs, gained a large underground following. Some groups managed to make proper studio recordings and appear a couple of times on television.
Krematorij is a Russian rock band. The band is considered one of the best concert performing teams in Russia, known for its masterly rock-n-roll. Formed in Moscow in 1983, Krematorij gained quick recognition, achieved the status of a “legend of Russian Rock-n-Roll” and after 30 years on stage continues to delight its audiences throughout the former Soviet Union, the Netherlands, Germany, Israel and the United States. The group's front man is Armen Grigoryan.

Apelsin is an Estonian band created in 1974 by Tõnu Aare. Their lyrics are in the Estonian and Russian languages. During the Soviet era their LP albums were issued by the Soviet music monopoly Melodiya. The Russian name of the band was Апельсин. In both Estonian and Russian, the band's name means orange (fruit). Many songs and much of the music of the band are satirical.
The Spring Rhythms: Tbilisi-80 was a musical event held in Tbilisi, capital of the Georgian SSR, Soviet Union, from March 8 to March 16, 1980. It was the first official rock festival in the Soviet Union and is frequently considered the turning point in the history of Soviet and Russian rock music.

Quest Pistols Show are a Ukrainian pop-rock band formed in 2007, originally consisting of Anton Savlepov, Nikita Goruk, and Konstantin 'Kostya' Borovsky. In 2012 Kostya left the band and was replaced by Daniel Joy. The band began as a group of dancers in a show called "Quest Ballet". On April 1, 2007 they took part as singers during the show "Chance" as an April Fools prank with the song "Я устал" and received over 60,000 positive votes. After their success, the group decided to become a band. Since their formation, the band has released the studio albums: Dlja tebja, in 2007 and Superklass in 2009; and one EP "Волшебные краски + ROCK’N'ROLL и кружева" in 2008, and now the single 'Forget Everything' in 2013. This song marks the start of 'a new stage' of the band, completely different from the usual image. The press team commented; 'With this release, they start the next level in their musical career, it's changed not only the style of sound, but the pitch, perception, positioning, and also the choice of material.' Most recently, the band released 'Shards of Ice', which takes the band in a more electronic and synthpop direction.
"Rock 'n' Roll Cities" is a song by the British rock group, the Kinks. The song appeared on the band's 1986 album, Think Visual, and, unlike most other Kinks songs, it was written by Dave Davies rather than his brother, Ray.
