Guo Chunning (born 1958) is a Chinese graphic designer and the vice president of the Beijing Armstrong International Corporate Identity (AICI). He is internationally known for designing Dancing Beijing, the official emblem of the 2008 Summer Olympics, held in Beijing in the People's Republic of China. [1]

Information

Guo was born in 1958 in the city of Shenyang in Liaoning province in Northeast China. Since 1975, he studied art design at Tianjin Arts and Crafts School (天津工艺美术学校). In 1980, he was accepted to study commercial art at Decoration Department of Central Academy of Arts and Crafts (中央工艺美术学院) which is now Academy of Arts & Design of Tsinghua University. Upon his graduation from the school in 1984, Guo worked at advertisement department of China Daily until 1988 to establish Beijing Shichuang International Design Co., Ltd (北京始创国际企划有限公司) [2] [3] In 2002, his logo design based on Chinese seal was selected among the 1,985 entires contributed by about 1300 designers from China and overseas. Wang Zigan (Chinese:王子淦) was a modern papercutting artist, master of arts and crafts, and famous Shanghai-style papercutter. His works contain both the delicacy of the South and the outgoingness of the North, ranging from flowers and grass to insects, birds, and beasts. His most important representative works are "The crowing of the cock", "Chicken eats centipede", etc. His "Selected papercutting works of Wang Zigan" was published. He once published "History of Shanghai papercutting" and "The creation of papercutting".

Nanjing Great Hall of the People

The Nanjing Great Hall of the People, which serves as National Theatre of Drama and Music and Art Gallery, was built in 1936, and is located at No. 264, Changjiang Road, Xuanwu District, Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, China. The gross floor area being 5,100 square meters, the 4 story hall was built up of reinforced concrete, facing south. Its original name was the National Great Hall and the hall was renamed in 1949.

Luo's methods in her creative practice also include working collaboratively and a focus on academic research. She is often the subject of her own art.

CAA Art Museum, is an art museum affiliated to China Art Academy (CAA) in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China. Despite its history dating back to 1935, the Museum became open to the public in 2003 after its building was reconstructed. Now, the museum comprises three sub-museum, including the Art Museum, the Design Museum and the Folk Crafts Museum. In 2015, the museum was listed among the 13 key art museums of China by the Ministry of Culture.

Zhao Meng was a Chinese sculptor and art educator. He served as Vice President and Party Secretary of the Academy of Arts & Design of Tsinghua University.
