Gurdev Singh Badal was an Indian politician and member of the Shiromani Akali Dal. Badal was a member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly from the Panjgrain constituency in Faridkot district. [1] [2] [3]

Badal died at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana on 28 March 2017. [4]

Captain Amarinder Singh is an Indian politician, military historian, author, former royal and former veteran serving as the 15th and current Chief Minister of Punjab. Shiromani Akali Dal (Democratic), was splinter group of the Badal-led Shiromani Akali Dal. SAD(D) was formed in 1996 under the leadership of Kuldip Singh Wadala who would become the first president of the party. The party for a couple of years allied with various political parties across India that had similar platforms to challenges governments of certain issues. Ahead of the 2004 Lok Sabha elections, SAD(D) had re-merged with the Badal-led Shiromani Akali Dal again.

Gurnam Singh was an Indian politician and the Chief Minister of Punjab from 8 March 1967 to 25 November 1967, and again between 17 February 1969 to 27 March 1970. He was the first Shiromani Akali Dal Chief minister of Punjab. His ministry fell due to defection of Lachhman Singh Gill, who became the next Chief Minister with the support of the Indian National Congress. He died in an air crash in Delhi on 31 May 1973.

Capt. Kanwaljit Singh was a Punjab Cooperation Minister and Shiromani Akali Dal's, General Secretary. He was a very respected and honest man. He was injured in a road accident near Kharar on 29 March 2009 and died at PGIMER Chandigarh on the same day.

He was elected to the seventh Lok Sabha from Fazilka constituency in 1967 as member of Shiromani Akali Dal. He died on 15 May 2020 at a private hospital in Mohali.
