Gustav Mckeon (born 18 October 2003) is a French-Australian cricketer who plays internationally for the French national cricket team. [1] [2] In July 2022, he became the youngest cricketer to score a men's Twenty20 International (T20I) century and became the first cricketer to score back-to-back centuries in the format. [3] [4]

Career

Mckeon made his T20I debut on 24 July 2022, scoring 76 on debut against the Czech Republic. [5] [6] In his next game against Switzerland, Mckeon scored 109, becoming the youngest male cricketer to score a T20I century. [7] [8] Then, in his next game against Norway, he scored 101, becoming the first cricketer to score back-to-back centuries in T20Is. [9] He also broke the record for most runs scored in the first three innings of a men's T20I career with this century. [10] He then went on to score an 87 against Estonia, becoming just the 5th cricketer to score 4 back-to-back half-centuries. [11]

Mckeon's feats had him nominated for the ICC Men's Player of the Month for July 2022 award. [12]

On July 12, 2023, Mckeon became the first player in the world to score 600+ runs in 10 consecutive T20I innings. In doing so, Mckeon surpassed the likes of Virat Kohli and Babar Azam, the previous holders of this record. [13]

Gustav competes for Perth Cricket Club in the Western Australian Premier Cricket competition. [14]

The English cricket team toured India between November 2016 and January 2017 to play five Tests, three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed the dates of the tour in July 2016. India last hosted a five-Test series in 1986–87 against Pakistan.

The Sri Lanka cricket team toured India in November and December 2017. The original schedule had the tour consisting of three Tests, five One Day Internationals (ODIs) and one Twenty20 International (T20I) match starting in February 2018.

The New Zealand cricket team toured India in October and November 2017 to play three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The fixtures replaced the planned visit to India by Pakistan that was listed on the Future Tours Programme. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed the full dates in September 2017. On 25 September 2017, New Zealand named the first nine players for the ODI squad. The remaining players for New Zealand's ODI and T20I squads were named on 14 October 2017.

The India cricket team toured England between July and September 2018 to play five Tests, three One Day International (ODIs) and three Twenty20 International (T20Is) matches. India also played a three-day match against Essex in July at Chelmsford.

The India cricket team toured Australia from November 2018 to January 2019 to play four Tests, three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. Initially, the Test match at the Adelaide Oval was planned to be a day/night fixture, but the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) declined the offer from Cricket Australia to play the match under lights. In April 2018, the Western Australian Cricket Association confirmed that the Perth Stadium would host its first ever Test match. During the second Test, it became the tenth venue in Australia to host a Test match.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2022 Asia Cup</span> Cricket tournament in the United Arab Emirates

The 2022 Asia Cup was the 15th edition of the Asia Cup cricket tournament, with the matches played as Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) during August and September 2022 in the United Arab Emirates. Originally scheduled to be held in September 2020, the tournament was postponed in July 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was then rescheduled to take place in June 2021, before being postponed once again. Pakistan was scheduled to host the tournament after retaining the rights to host the 2022 edition. However, in October 2021, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) announced that Sri Lanka would host the tournament in 2022, with Pakistan co-hosting the 2023 edition with the former. India were the defending champions, and were eliminated in the Super Four stage in this edition. Sri Lanka beat Pakistan by 23 runs in the final, to win their sixth title and their first in T20I format.

The Bangladesh cricket team toured India in November 2019 to play two Test and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The Test series formed part of the inaugural 2019–2021 ICC World Test Championship. It was the second time that Bangladesh toured India to play a Test series, and the first time that Bangladesh played a T20I series against India in India. The Test series also featured the first day/night match to be played by either side.
