The women's artistic team all-around competition of the gymnastics events at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, was held on October 24 at the Nissan Gymnastics Stadium. [1] The defending champions were Ivana Hong, Shawn Johnson, Nastia Liukin, Samantha Peszek and Amber Trani from the United States.

Jordyn Marie Wieber is an American former artistic gymnast turned gymnastics coach who is the current head coach of the Arkansas Razorbacks gymnastics team, assuming the position in April 2019 following the retirement of long-time head coach Mark Cook. She was a member of the U.S. Women's Gymnastics team, dubbed the "Fierce Five" by the media, at the 2012 Summer Olympics, where she won a gold medal in the team competition. Raisman is the 2016 Olympic individual all-around silver medalist and floor exercise silver medalist.

Basketball competitions at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara were held from October 21 to October 30 at the CODE Dome. Each team was allowed to enter a maximum of twelve athletes. Puerto Rico won both the men's and women's competitions, with Mexico placing second in both competitions. The United States won bronze in the men's competition, while Brazil won bronze in the women's competition.

Canada has competed in 35 out of the 36 sports on the program. On October 4, 2011 women's football star Christine Sinclair was selected to carry the flag during the opening ceremony. The chef de mission was Jacques Cardyn and the assistant chef de mission was Curt Harnett.

Maroney was also a member of the gold-winning American team at the 2011 World Championships, where she won gold medals in the team and vault competitions. She defended her World title and won the gold medal on vault at the 2013 World Championships, becoming the first U.S. female gymnast to defend a World Championship vault title.

Christine Jennifer Peng-Peng Lee is a Canadian artistic gymnast. She was a member of the Canadian team that qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics and committed to attend UCLA after the Olympics, where she led UCLA to a comeback win at the 2018 NCAA National Championship. Lee prefers using her Chinese name, Peng Peng, when doing gymnastics and she claims that it makes her feel like "someone completely different."
