The HTC Butterfly 3 is an Android smartphone manufactured and marketed by HTC. The device is an international variant of the HTC J Butterfly (HTV31) which was sold only in Japan and the Butterfly 3 was first launched in Taiwan on October 20, 2015. [1] However, HTC later on stated that the Butterfly 3 will be sold only in Taiwan. [2]

History

The J Butterfly was announced in May 2015 and the Butterfly 3 was announced along with the HTC One M9+ Supreme Camera Edition in a press conference held in Japan in September 2015. [3] An international version was announced on 29 September 2015. [4] [5] [6]

HTC One is a series of Android and Windows Phone smartphones designed and manufactured by HTC. All products in the One series were designed to be touchscreen-based and slate-sized, and to initially run the Android mobile operating system with the HTC Sense graphical user interface. The one exception to this is the HTC One (M8), which came in a Windows Phone variant in addition to several Android variants. From 2010 to 2013, all HTC products starting from the HTC Sensation XE to the HTC One Mini were equipped with a Beats Audio equalizer. Later HTC devices beginning with the HTC One Max no longer ship with Beats Audio following the buyback of HTC's stake in Beats Electronics.

HTC Butterfly Android-based smartphone

The HTC Butterfly is an Android-based, 4G LTE-capable smartphone designed and developed by HTC. First announced for release in Japan by Japanese carrier KDDI as the HTC J Butterfly (HTL21), the J Butterfly was released in Japan on 9 December 2012 as the successor to the HTC J. Outside Japan, in other Asian countries, the phone was released as the HTC Butterfly (X920d) and in China and Russia as the HTC Butterfly (X920e). The Chinese/Russian and US versions of the Butterfly do not have a microSD slot. In the United States, the Butterfly was released as the HTC Droid DNA as a Verizon exclusive, supporting wireless charging. The DNA would become Verizon's final non-Motorola Droid smartphone; following its replacement in August 2013 by the HTC One and Droid Maxx, the carrier announced that all future Droid phones would be built exclusively by Motorola. In June 2013, the Butterfly was succeeded by the HTC Butterfly S.

HTC One (M7) Touchscreen-based Android smartphone

HTC One is a touchscreen-based Android smartphone designed, developed, and manufactured by HTC. The smartphone was unveiled on 19 February 2013 at press events in New York City and London and is HTC's seventh flagship smartphone. It is the successor to the company's 2012 flagship model, the One X—which was critically acclaimed, but commercially unsuccessful due in part to insufficient marketing efforts. To make the device stand out among its competition, HTC One was developed with a major emphasis on unique hardware and software features; which included a unibody aluminum frame, a 1080p full-HD display, dual front-facing stereo speakers, a camera with a custom image sensor and the ability to automatically generate montages of media, an updated version of HTC's Sense user experience, BlinkFeed—an aggregator of news and social network content, and an electronic program guide app with the ability to serve as a universal remote via an IR blaster located in the device's power button.

HTC Butterfly S

The HTC Butterfly S is an Android smartphone designed and manufactured by HTC. It is exclusive to Asian countries and currently has not been officially released in North America or Europe. The Butterfly S was unveiled on 19 June 2013 for release in Asian markets by July 2013. It is the successor to the HTC Butterfly, and incorporates hardware and software features first introduced by the HTC One, but is distinguished from the One by a larger, 5-inch 1080p display, a larger 3200 mAh battery and a Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor clocked at 1.9 GHz. The Butterfly S has a shiny plastic unibody compared to the aluminum unibody of the One, and has three capacitive buttons instead of two. It lacks the optical image stabilization of the One and the waterproofing of the original Butterfly. It has 16GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot for storage up to 64GB. The international 901s variant sold in Asian countries such as Singapore and Hong Kong has support for 4G LTE. The original Taiwanese version (901e) does not have LTE support and is currently available unlocked or on a contract with various carriers (initially only Chunghwa Telecom. An LTE version for Taiwan was announced in January 2014, following the implementation of LTE by various Taiwanese carriers. In China, two variants were released, a regular version with a 3200 mAh battery and a dual SIM version with a 2300 mAh battery. Only the Taiwanese variants officially received Android 5.0.2 Lollipop.

HTC One (M8)

The HTC One (M8) is an Android or Windows smartphone manufactured and marketed by HTC. Following a number of leaks that occurred during the months prior, the device was officially unveiled in a press conference on March 25, 2014, and released the same day by Verizon Wireless at retail, and by other Canadian and United States carriers for online orders prior to its wider retail availability in mid-April.

The HTC Desire 610 is an Android-based smartphone designed and manufactured by HTC. It is an affordable smartphone part of the Desire range of mid-range handsets, and was aimed at the same market sector with devices such as the Motorola Moto G, Sony Xperia M2 and Nokia Lumia 735. Android One is a family of third-party Android smartphones promoted by Google. In comparison to many third-party Android devices, which ship with a manufacturer's customized user interface and bundled apps, these devices run near-stock versions of Android with limited modifications, and a focus on Google services. Devices that run Android One receive OS updates for at least two years after their release, and security patches for at least three years.

The HTC Desire 620 is an Android-based smartphone designed and manufactured by HTC. It is part of the Desire range of mid-range handsets. It was announced on 29 November 2014 in Taiwan. It was announced for the European market on 9 December 2014.

The Sony Xperia C5 Ultra is a mid-range Android phablet smartphone developed and manufactured by Sony. It serves as the successor to the Xperia C4. The phone was unveiled on 3 August 2015 alongside the Xperia M5.

HTC One A9 Android smartphone

The HTC One A9 is an Android smartphone manufactured and marketed by HTC. It was officially announced on October 20, 2015. It is the successor to the HTC One Mini 2 in the Worldwide; but in global markets, it was sold alongside the One M9 as a mid-range offering. The HTC One M9+ is an Android smartphone manufactured and marketed by HTC which was announced on April 8, 2015. Initially on launch, the device was only sold in China. In July 2015, the device was released in Europe excluding the United Kingdom.

The HTC Desire 300 is a low-end Android smartphone released by HTC in 2013. The phone was announced on 3 September 2013 in London, England. It was stated that the device would be available in October 2013 in select markets.

HTC Desire 500

The HTC Desire 500 is a low-mid-range Android smartphone released by HTC in 2013. On 23 July 2013, HTC Desire 500 was announced in Taiwan. On 7 August 2013, the device was unveiled for the European market.

The HTC Desire 626 is a mid-range Android smartphone released by HTC in 2015. It comes in single SIM and dual SIM models.

HTC U11 Android-powered smartphone manufactured and sold by HTC

The HTC U11 is an Android smartphone manufactured and sold by HTC as part of the HTC U series. It was announced on 16 May 2017 and succeeds the HTC 10 smartphone. In the United States, the HTC U11's major carrier is Sprint; however, it is also compatible with unlocked carriers, such as AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon.
