Hamad Al-Easa (born 9 January 1972) is a Kuwaiti footballer. He competed in the men's tournament at the 1992 Summer Olympics. [1]

Al-Gharafa Sports Club is a Qatari sports club based in the Al Gharrafa district of Al Rayyan. It is best known for its football team, although it also has teams for other sports. In a documentary produced by Al Kass sports channel about the history of the club, Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim mentioned that the idea was suggested by Saad Al-Rumaihi initially who was working as a sports journalist at the Al Raya Newspaper.

The Jassim bin Hamad Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Doha, Qatar. It is currently used mostly for football matches and it also has facilities for athletics. The football team Al-Sadd plays there. The stadium, originally built in 1974, was rebuilt in 2004 for the Gulf Cup and currently has a capacity of 12,946 people. The stadium is also used as the home stadium of the Qatar national football team. The stadium was named after the former Minister of Education Jassim bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al-Thani, who had provided the permission for the club’s founding in 1969.

Qatar competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, which was held from 27 July to 12 August 2012. The country's participation at London marked its eighth appearance in the Summer Olympics since its début at the 1984 Summer Olympics. The delegation sent by the Qatar Olympic Committee consisted of twelve athletes in athletics, shooting, swimming and table tennis. The 2012 Games marked the first time Qatar sent female athletes to the Olympic Games; following the 2008 Summer Olympics, it had been one of only three countries, along with Saudi Arabia and Brunei, to never have done so.

2016 AFC U-23 Championship

The 2016 AFC U-23 Championship was the 2nd edition of the AFC U-23 Championship, the biennial international age-restricted football championship organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for the men's under-23 national teams of Asia. The tournament was held in Qatar between 12–30 January 2016. A total of 16 teams compete in the tournament. The tournament was also renamed from the "AFC U-22 Championship" to the "AFC U-23 Championship".
