The New Zealand national cricket team represents New Zealand in men's international cricket. Nicknamed the Black Caps, they played their first Test in 1930 against England in Christchurch, becoming the fifth country to play Test cricket. From 1930 New Zealand had to wait until 1956, more than 26 years, for its first Test victory, against the West Indies at Eden Park in Auckland. They played their first ODI in the 1972–73 season against Pakistan in Christchurch. New Zealand are the inaugural champions of WTC which they won in 2021 and they have also won ICC CT in 2000. They have played in the CWC final twice and the T20 WC final once.
Martin David Crowe was a New Zealand cricketer, Test and ODI captain as well as a commentator. He played for the New Zealand national cricket team between 1982 and 1995, and is regarded as one of the country's greatest batsmen.
Nathan John Astle is a former New Zealand cricketer, who played all formats of the game. A right-handed batsman who played as an opener in One Day Internationals (ODI), while batting in the middle order in Test matches. In a career that spanned 12 years, Astle played 81 Tests and 223 ODIs accumulating 4,702 and 7,090 runs respectively. As of 2022, he is New Zealand's fourth-most prolific run scorer. Astle collected 154 wickets with his medium-paced bowling at the international level. He holds two records – scoring the fastest double century in Test cricket and the second highest individual score in the fourth innings of a Test match. Both the records were achieved when he made 222 against England in Christchurch in 2002. Astle was a member of the New Zealand team that won the 2000 ICC KnockOut Trophy. His innings of 145 not out is the highest individual score by a batsman in the ICC Champions Trophy, which he scored in the 2004 tournament.
James Andrew Hamilton Marshall is a former New Zealand cricketer. He is the identical twin brother of Hamish Marshall.
Hamish John Hamilton Marshall is a former New Zealand cricketer, who played all formats of the game for New Zealand. He is the identical twin brother of James Marshall. Hamish and James became the third pair of twins to play Test cricket, and are the second identical pair.

Timothy Grant Southee, is a New Zealand international cricketer who plays for New Zealand cricket team in all formats of the game, captain in Tests and vice captain in T20Is. He is a right-arm medium-fast bowler and a hard-hitting lower order batsman. The third New Zealand bowler to take 300 Test wickets, he was one of the country's youngest cricketers, debuting at the age of 19 in February 2008. On his Test debut against England he took 5 wickets and made 77 off 40 balls in the second innings. He plays for Northern Districts in the Plunket Shield, Ford Trophy and Super Smash as well as Northland in the Hawke Cup. He was named as New Zealand's captain for the first T20I against West Indies in place of Kane Williamson, who was rested for that game. The Blackcaps won that match by 47 runs. Southee was a member of the New Zealand team that won the 2019–2021 ICC World Test Championship. Southee currently has the highest (international) test batting strike rate among the batsmen with a minimum of 2000 test runs. His (batting) career strike rate is 83.12. He was also a part of the New Zealand squad to finish as runners-up at the 2015 Cricket World Cup.
Luke Ronchi is a New Zealand-Australian cricket coach and a former cricketer. He represented both the Australia national cricket team and New Zealand national cricket team in international cricket. Ronchi is the only player to have played for both Australia and New Zealand in cricketing history. He was also a part of the New Zealand squad to finish as runners-up at the 2015 Cricket World Cup. He played for Wellington in New Zealand domestic matches and has played Twenty20 matches for a range of sides. He retired from international cricket in June 2017.
The India cricket team toured New Zealand in the 1980–81 season to play a three-match Test series and a two-match One Day International (ODI) series against New Zealand. The tour also included two tour matches against New Zealand's first-class sides. After the tour ended, India played Fiji in a two-day game in Lautoka, defeating them by 220 runs. New Zealand won the ODI series 2–0 and the Test series that followed 1–0. It was their first series win against India in Tests in seven attempts.
Andrew Malcolm Ellis is a New Zealand former international cricketer, who played in One Day Internationals (ODIs) and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). In first-class cricket, Ellis played 26 State Championship games for Canterbury, up to the end of the 2006/7 season. Ellis retired from all forms of cricket in March 2020. He was the second New Zealand cricketer to play 100 or more matches in each format of the game.
William Edward Barton was a New Zealand cricketer who played ten first-class matches for West Coast and Auckland in the 1880s. During his career he was widely considered to be the best batsman in New Zealand.
Ryan James McCone is a former New Zealand domestic cricketer, who played for Canterbury and Central Districts. He is a left-hand batsman and left-arm medium bowler. He made his début in the New Zealand State Championship in March 2009 and, with a century, became the first débutante number nine batsman to score a hundred.
Hamish Duncan Rutherford is a New Zealand former professional cricketer who played first-class cricket for Otago and represented New Zealand in international cricket. A left-handed batsman, occasional left-arm spin bowler, Rutherford is the son of former New Zealand Test captain Ken Rutherford and nephew of Ian Rutherford. He was born at Dunedin in 1989 and educated at Otago Boys' High School in the city.
The New Zealand cricket team toured Bangladesh from 5 to 17 October 2010 for a five-match One Day Internationals (ODI) series. Bangladesh won four and the other was abandoned without play. This was Bangladesh's first series victory against a full-strength Test-playing nation.

He is the son of former cricketer Rod Latham. He has the most Test centuries for New Zealand opening batsmen. Latham was a member of the New Zealand team that won the 2019–2021 ICC World Test Championship. He was also a part of the New Zealand squad to finish as runners-up at the 2015 Cricket World Cup.
Peter Howard Barton is a New Zealand former cricketer. He played first-class cricket for Northern Districts and Otago.
Hamish Kember is a New Zealand former cricketer. He played eight first-class matches for Canterbury between 1990 and 1995. He was also part of New Zealand's squad for the 1988 Youth Cricket World Cup.
The India cricket team toured New Zealand from January to March 2020 to play two Tests, three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and five Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The Test series formed part of the inaugural 2019–2021 ICC World Test Championship. New Zealand Cricket confirmed the fixtures for the tour in June 2019.
Alfred Barton was a New Zealand cricketer. He played in one first-class match for Wellington in 1904/05.
