Handball competitions at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto will be held from July 16 to 25 at the Direct Energy Centre (Exhibition Centre in Hall B). [1] Due to naming rights the arena will be known as the latter for the duration of the games. [2] A total of eight men's and women's teams will compete in each respective tournament. [3]

The winners of the two tournaments will qualify for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. If the host nation, Brazil wins either tournament, the runner up will qualify instead. [4]

Qualification

A total of eight men's teams and eight women's team will qualify to compete at the games. The top three teams at the South American and Central American and Caribbean Games will qualify for each respective tournament. The host nation (Canada) automatically qualifies teams in both events. [6] The United States and Uruguay competed against one another in a home/away playoff for the last spot in each tournament. The fourth placed team in the Central American and Caribbean Games both declined to compete in the respective tournaments. [7] Each team can consist of up to 15 athletes. [8]

Puerto Rico competed in the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada, from July 10 to 26, 2015. Unlike the 2011 Pan American games, Puerto Rico did not perform well, earning only 1 gold and silver each, and 13 bronze medals.

Field hockey competitions at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto were held from 13 to 25 July 2015, at the Pan Am / Parapan Am Fields, which are located on the back campus of the University of Toronto. A total of eight men's and women's teams will compete in each respective tournament.

Water polo competitions at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto was held from July 7 to 15 at the Markham Pan Am Centre in Markham. The water polo competitions was the first sporting event to be conducted at the games, beginning three days before the opening ceremony. Handball competitions at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru, were held from July 24 to August 5. The venue for the competition is the Sports Centre Hall 1 located at the Videna cluster. The venue also hosted judo. A total of eight men's and eight women's teams competed in each tournament. This means a total of 224 athletes are competed.
