The handball women's tournament at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru was held between 24 and 30 July 2019. Eight nations participated. [1] Brazil won its sixth straight title, directly qualifying to the 2020 Summer Olympics.

Qualification

A total eight women's teams qualified to compete at the games in each tournament. The host nation (Peru) qualified in each tournament, along with seven other teams in various qualifying tournaments. [2]

The 2022 European Women's Handball Championship was held in Slovenia, North Macedonia and Montenegro from 4 to 20 November 2022. The 2022 IHF Women's Junior World Championship was the 23rd edition of the IHF Women's Junior World Championship, held in Slovenia from 22 June to 3 July 2022 under the aegis of International Handball Federation (IHF). For the first time, the championship was organised by the Handball Federation of Slovenia. The number of teams increased from 24 to 32.

The 2022 Asian Women's Junior Handball Championship was 16th edition of the championship held from 7 to 14 March 2022 in Almaty, Kazakhstan under the aegis of Asian Handball Federation. It was the fifth time in history that the championship was organised by the Kazakhstan Handball Federation. It also acted as the qualification tournament for the 2022 Women's Junior World Handball Championship, with top tree teams from the championship directly qualifying for the event to be held in Slovenia.
