Hanger Hill Wood is a small remnant of ancient woodland to the east of the Hanger Hill Park and North Circular Road at Hanger Lane, in Ealing in the London Borough of Ealing. Named from 'Hangra', the Old English word for wooded slope. [1] There is access from Hanger Lane (at pedestrian crossing by Hillcrest Road), alternative access is at several points on Chatsworth Road.

This site contains a variety of woodland native plants including Pedunculate oaks (Quercus robur), European beech (Fagus sylvatica), European yew (Taxus baccata), European holly (Ilex aquifolium), European ivy (Hedera helix) and other tree species.
Breeding birds include common wood pigeons (Columba palumbus), common blackbirds (Turdus merula), Eurasian blue tits (Cyanistes caeruleus), common starlings (Sturnus vulgaris) and invasive rose-ringed parakeets (Psittacula krameri).
Mammal species include red foxes (Vulpes vulpes), European hedgehogs (Erinaceus europaeus), invasive grey squirrels (Sciurus carolinensis).

Hanger Lane is a major road in Ealing, London, England. The majority of the road forms the westernmost part of the A406 North Circular Road, running north from the A4020 Uxbridge Road at Ealing Common to the A40 Western Avenue at the Hanger Lane gyratory. This complex and busy junction incorporates Hanger Lane Underground station on the Central line of the London Underground. North of the gyratory, Hanger Lane continues along the A4005 to Vicar's Bridge and the border with Alperton in the London Borough of Brent.

It lies within the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and it is featured in the Nature Conservation Review. A small part is managed by the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust, and access to this area requires a permit.
Selborne Common is a 99.6-hectare (246-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest west of Selborne in Hampshire. It is a Nature Conservation Review site, Grade I, and is part of the East Hampshire Hangers Special Area of Conservation. It is managed by the National Trust.

Hanger Hill or Haymills Estate is a local area and ward of the London Borough of Ealing around Hanger Lane. It was developed in the interwar period when affluent Londoners began to move out of Central London for more green spaces. The estate features spacious houses and flats designed by architects Douglas Smith and Barley.
Titnore Wood is an area of ancient woodland to the north-west of Worthing in West Sussex. With neighbouring Goring Wood it forms one of the last remaining blocks of ancient woodland on the West Sussex coastal plain.

Old Park Wood is a 16.7-hectare (41-acre) Site of Special Scientific Interest in Harefield in the London Borough of Hillingdon. The south-east part is an 8-hectare (20-acre) nature reserve owned and managed by the Hertfordshire and Middlesex Wildlife Trust.
Happy Valley Park is a public park in Coulsdon in the London Borough of Croydon. It is owned and managed by Croydon Council. Located in the Green Belt, most of it forms part of the Farthing Downs and Happy Valley Site of Special Scientific Interest.
Hanger Wood is an ancient woodland and Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) in the parish of Stagsden, Bedfordshire in the United Kingdom. Situated approximately one kilometre east of the village of Stagsden, the 24.12 hectares woodland was declared a SSSI in 1988, being described by Natural England as "one of the best remaining examples of wet ash-maple woodland in Bedfordshire". The name "Hanger" comes from Old English/Anglo-Saxon term for "wood on a hill" or "wooded hill", applied to Hanger Wood due to its situation on a northwest-facing slope of a narrow ridge. Commenting on the wood's character, A. Simco said in 1984 that "It has been strongly influenced by the geology and topography of the area, particularly by the south-west/north-east boulder clay ridge along which the parish boundary runs."
Grove Farm is an 8 hectare Local Nature Reserve (LNR) in Greenford in the London Borough of Ealing. It was declared an LNR in 2002 by Ealing Council, which owns and manages the site.
