Hank Bachmeier (born July 14, 1999) is an American football quarterback who plays for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). He formerly played for the Boise State Broncos in the Mountain West Conference (MW) [1] and for the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs of Conference USA. He left Boise State mid-season and entered the NCAA football transfer portal on September 27, 2022.
Bachmeier's ride in Boise came to an abrupt end in September 2022, after he started the first four games of the season. Bachmeier entered the transfer portal just days after former Bronco offensive coordinator Tim Plough was fired. It was announced on January 19, 2023, that Bachmeier would transfer to Louisiana Tech University. [2] It was announced December 10, 2023, that Bachmeier would transfer to Wake Forest University. [3]
Bachmeier was born to Michael and April Bachmeier, and was home-schooled until high school. [4] [5]
Bachmeier attended Murrieta Valley High School in Murrieta, California. As a four-year starter, he amassed 13,150 passing yards along with 2,190 rushing yards, totaling 15,340 all-purpose yards. He passed for 156 touchdowns and threw 30 interceptions while running for 32 more touchdowns, totaling 188 combined touchdowns. [1] [5]
Bachmeier was rated by both 247Sports and Scout as a four-star recruit coming out of high school. [6] [7] He verbally committed to Boise State University in May 2018, officially signed in December and then enrolled in January 2019. [8] [9] He noted his relationships and offensive scheme, in addition to Boise State's ability to develop players and the city of Boise as reasons for choosing Boise State. [9] [10]

On January 19, 2023, Bachmeier transferred to Louisiana Tech. [11] On November 28, 2023, Bachmeier entered the transfer portal for a second time. [12]

Bachmeier is the oldest of five siblings. He has a sister and three brothers. His younger brother, Tiger Bachmeier, plays for the Stanford Cardinal. [5]
Murrieta Valley High School (MVHS), colloquially known as MV or Murrieta opened in 1990 as the first four-year comprehensive high school in Murrieta, California. The school is nestled at the base of the Santa Rosa Plateau, at the western end of the city. It is operated by the Murrieta Valley Unified School District. MVHS is a California Distinguished School, and is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
Kellen Christopher Moore is an American football coach and former quarterback who is the offensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Boise State Broncos, setting the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) record for quarterback wins. Signed by Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent in 2012, he played as a backup with the Lions and the Dallas Cowboys for three seasons each. Moore retired from playing in 2018 and rejoined the Cowboys as a coach, serving as the team's offensive coordinator from 2019 to 2022. He became the Chargers' offensive coordinator in 2023.
Jeffrey Matthew Driskel is an American football quarterback who is a free agent. He played college football at Florida, before transferring to Louisiana Tech, and was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
Trevor A. Knight is a former American football quarterback. He played college football at Oklahoma and Texas A&M. After leading Oklahoma to an 8–5 record in the 2014 season, he lost the starting job in an open quarterback competition to Texas Tech transfer Baker Mayfield prior to the 2015 season. On January 4, 2016, it was announced that Knight would transfer to Texas A&M University.
