Hannes Fuchs (born March 9, 1972) is a retired male badminton player from Austria.

Career

Fuchs competed in badminton at the 1992 Summer Olympics in men's singles. He lost in the second round to Deepankar Bhattacharya, of India, [1] 8-15, 15-11, 15-11. He also played in men's doubles with Jürgen Koch and they were beaten in the first round. [1]

In 1993 he won the Russian Open, the Slovenian International and the Bulgarian International, and in 1994 the Bulgarian International again. [2] He also competed at the 1996 Summer Olympics. [3]

He competed at the 2004, 2008 Olympic Games, and at the 2006 Commonwealth Games. Martin Lundgaard Hansen is a badminton player from Denmark. He started his career in badminton as a singles player, and competed in the 1993 IBF World Championships. But as the years went by, he made a choice to play doubles. Teamed-up with Lars Paaske, they emerged as the men's doubles champion at the 1999, 2001 Denmark Open, and in 2000, he and Paaske participated at the Olympic Games. The career highlights for Hansen was when he partnered with Jens Eriksen. The duo won the 2004 and 2006 All England Open, won gold at the European Championships, and was at the time a half years as No.1 in the world.

Badminton had its debut as an official medal sport at the 1992 Summer Olympics. It was held from 28 July to 4 August 1992. Four events were held in the first competition of the sport: men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, and women's doubles. Badminton was contested in the Pavelló de la Mar Bella. 36 nations entered competitors, with a total of 177 entrants.
