Hannover-Land I is an electoral constituency (German: Wahlkreis) represented in the Bundestag. It elects one member via first-past-the-post voting. Under the current constituency numbering system, it is designated as constituency 43. It is located in central Lower Saxony, comprising the northern part of the Hanover Region. [1]
Hannover-Land I was created for the 1980 federal election. Since 2021, it has been represented by Rebecca Schamber of the Social Democratic Party (SPD). [2]
Hannover-Land I is located in central Lower Saxony. As of the 2021 federal election, it comprises the northern part of the Hanover Region, specifically the municipalities of Burgdorf, Burgwedel, Garbsen, Isernhagen, Langenhagen, Neustadt am Rübenberge, Wedemark, and Wunstorf. [1]
Hannover-Land I was created in 1980 and contained parts of the abolished constituencies of Hannover III, Schaumburg, Celle, and Gifhorn. From the 1980 through 1998 elections, it was number 38. In the 2002 and 2005 elections, it was number 43. In the 2009 election, it was number 44. Since the 2013 election, it has been number 43.
Originally, the constituency comprised the municipalities of Burgdorf, Burgwedel, Garbsen, Isernhagen, Langenhagen, Neustadt am Rübenberge, Wedemark, Lehrte, and Uetze from the now-abolished Landkreis Hannover district. In the 2002 election, it lost the municipalities of Lehrte and Uetze while gaining Wunstorf.

The constituency was first held by future Chancellor of Germany Gerhard Schröder, a member of the Social Democratic Party (SPD), who served from 1980 to 1983. Dietmar Kansy of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) was elected in 1983 and served until 1998. SPD candidate Monika Ganseforth won in 1998 and served a single term, before being succeeded by party fellow Caren Marks in 2002. In 2013, Hendrik Hoppenstedt of the CDU was elected representative. Rebecca Schamber regained the constituency for the SPD in 2021.

Isernhagen is a municipality in the district of Hanover, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated in the north-east of Hanover. According to the average income per capita it is the most affluent municipality in Lower Saxony. Bundesautobahn 7 passes through the municipality. It is adjacent to Burgwedel, Burgdorf, Lehrte, Hannover, Langenhagen und Wedemark.
Hannover Hauptbahnhof is the main railway station for the city of Hanover in Lower Saxony, Germany. The railway junction is one of the 21 stations listed as a railway Category 1 station by DB Station&Service. It is also the most important public transport hub of the region of Hanover and it is served regional and S-Bahn services. The station has six platforms with twelve platform tracks, and two through tracks without platforms. Every day it is used by 250,000 passengers and 622 trains stop at the platforms. About 2,000 people work here.
Burgdorf is a town in the Hanover Region, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated approximately 22 km northeast of Hanover. Until 1974, Burgdorf was the capital of the Burgdorf district. The town and its surrounding areas are known for the tradition of growing white Asparagus and for breeding Hanoverian horses. Burgdorf hosts a monthly horse market from April to September every year.

The Burgdorf District is a former district (Landkreis) in Germany. It existed from 1885 to 1974, when it was absorbed in the Hanover District and subsequently in the Hanover Region. Stephan Weil is a German politician and the leader of the Social Democratic Party in Lower Saxony. On 20 January 2013, the SPD and the Green party won the 2013 Lower Saxony state election by one seat. On 19 February 2013, he was elected Minister President of Lower Saxony with the votes of SPD and Alliance '90/The Greens. From 1 November 2013 until 31 October 2014 he was President of the Bundesrat and ex officio deputy to the President of Germany.
