The Inkatha Freedom Party is a right-wing political party in South Africa. The party has been led by Velenkosini Hlabisa since the party's 2019 National General Conference. Mangosuthu Buthelezi founded the party in 1975 and led it until 2019. The IFP is currently the fourth largest party in the National Assembly of South Africa,in 2014 yielding third place to the Economic Freedom Fighters,formed in 2013. Although registered as a national party,it has had only minor electoral success outside its home province of KwaZulu-Natal.
Bongiwe Nomusa Sithole-Moloi (née Sithole) has served as KwaZulu-Natal's Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs since February 2023. She has represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Legislature since 2014 and in the KwaZulu-Natal Executive Council since 2016:she was formerly the MEC for Arts,Culture,Sports and Recreation from 2016 to 2019 and MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development from 2019 to 2023. She gained political prominence as the Mayor of Umgungundlovu District Municipality from 2000 to 2008;she was removed from that position in a vote of no-confidence supported by her own party.
Edward Senzo Mchunu is a South African politician currently serving as Minister of Water and Sanitation since 5 August 2021. A member of the African National Congress (ANC),he was formerly the Minister of Public Service and Administration from 30 May 2019 to 5 August 2021 and the Premier of KwaZulu-Natal from 22 August 2013 until 23 May 2016.
Alice Hlebani Mthembu is a South African politician from KwaZulu-Natal. She is currently a Member of Parliament for the African National Congress.
KwaZulu-Natal is one of the nine multi-member constituencies of the National Assembly of South Africa,the lower house of the Parliament of South Africa,the national legislature of South Africa. The constituency was established in 1994 when the National Assembly was established by the Interim Constitution following the end of Apartheid. It is conterminous with the province of KwaZulu-Natal. The constituency currently elects 41 of the 400 members of the National Assembly using the closed party-list proportional representation electoral system. At the 2019 general election it had 5,524,666 registered electors.
Lungi Mnganga-Gcabashe is a South African politician who represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the National Assembly from 2014 to 2019. In 2020 she was appointed chief of staff in the office of Pemmy Majodina,the Chief Whip of the Majority Party in the National Assembly. She was formerly a Member of the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Legislature from 1999 to 2004 and chaired the KwaZulu-Natal branch of the ANC Women's League from 2008 to 2012. She was elected to five-year terms on the ANC's National Executive Committee in 2012 and 2022.
Ntombikayise Nomawisile Sibhidla-Saphetha is a South African politician who has represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Legislature since 2011. She was formerly KwaZulu-Natal's Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Arts,Culture,Sports and Recreation from November 2011 to May 2016,and before that she represented the ANC in the National Assembly from 2009 to 2011.
Weziwe Gcotyelwa Thusi is a South African politician who represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Legislature and KwaZulu-Natal Executive Council until 2019. Most prominently,she was KwaZulu-Natal's Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Social Development from 2011 to 2019. She later served as Speaker of the eThekweni Metropolitan Council from 2019 until 2021,when she resigned from politics.
Magesvari "Maggie" Govender is a South African politician who represents the African National Congress (ANC) in the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Legislature. A former anti-apartheid activist,she was KwaZulu-Natal's Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Human Settlements and Public Works between 2009 and 2011 and she has served as an ordinary Member of the Provincial Legislature since leaving that office.
Linda Xolelwa Hlobisile Hlongwa-Madlala is a South African politician who has served in the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Legislature since 2005. She was a member of the National Democratic Convention until 15 September 2007,when she defected to the African National Congress (ANC) during the legislature's floor-crossing period. Since then she has represented the ANC in the legislature;most recently,she was re-elected to her seat in the 2014 general election,ranked 36th on the ANC's provincial party list,and in the 2019 general election,ranked 37th. She is married to Cyril Madlala,a journalist and formerly a spin doctor for the provincial government.
Michael Mabuyakhulu is a South African politician and former trade unionist who represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Legislature between 1994 and 2016. He also served for seventeen years in the KwaZulu-Natal Executive Council,most prominently as Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Economic Development and Tourism from 2009 to 2016.
Nhlakanipho Ntombela is a South African politician who has represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Legislature since before 2014. He is also a longstanding member of the Provincial Executive Committee of the KwaZulu-Natal ANC,and in December 2021 he was elected Deputy Regional Chairperson of the ANC's Moses Mabhida branch in Umgungundlovu District.
Celiwe Qhamkile Madlopha is a South African politician who has represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Legislature since 2019. Before that,she was a Member of the National Assembly between 2010 and 2019. She is also a former Provincial Chairperson of the ANC Women's League in KwaZulu-Natal.

He has represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Legislature since September 2018,having formerly served in his seat from 2014 to 2015.
Belinda Francis Scott is a South African politician who was KwaZulu-Natal's Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Finance from 2014 to 2019. She served several terms in the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Legislature from 1994 to 2019,representing the African National Congress (ANC) from 2002 onwards after defecting from both the Democratic Party and the Inkatha Freedom Party. After she left the provincial legislature in 2019,she served as Deputy Mayor of eThekwini from September 2019 until she resigned from politics in February 2021.
Bhekumusi Gabriel "Sifiso" Nkabinde was a South African politician and alleged warlord in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. He represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Legislature from 1994 until 1997.

Pamella "Nana" Mnandi is a South African politician from KwaZulu-Natal. She represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the National Assembly from 1999 until 2005,when she resigned. Her resignation followed her conviction on a fraud charge in the Travelgate scandal.
