Hardly Art is an American independent record label based in Seattle, Washington. Founded in early 2007 by Sub Pop Records, Hardly Art is run by three full-time employees and is distributed by the Alternative Distribution Alliance (ADA) and Sub Pop. [1] [2] [3] The label's name comes from a lyric from the song "No Culture Icons" by the Thermals. In 2016, the label was recognized for its contributions to independent music with a Genius Award Nomination from The Stranger. [4]

Genius Loves Company is the final studio album by rhythm and blues and soul musician Ray Charles, posthumously released August 31, 2004, on Concord Records. Recording sessions for the album took place between June 2003 and March 2004. The album consists of rhythm and blues, soul, country, blues, jazz and pop standards performed by Charles and several guest musicians, such as Natalie Cole, Elton John, James Taylor, Norah Jones, B.B. King, Gladys Knight, Diana Krall, Van Morrison, Willie Nelson and Bonnie Raitt. Genius Loves Company was the last album recorded and completed by Charles before his death in June 2004.

Discipline is the tenth studio album by American singer Janet Jackson. It was released on February 22, 2008, by Island Records. It is her only album released with the record label after her five-album deal with Virgin Records was fulfilled with the release of 20 Y.O. (2006). Jackson worked with producers such as Darkchild, Ne-Yo, Shea Taylor, Stargate, Johntá Austin, Jermaine Dupri, Tricky Stewart, and The-Dream on the album. Best Art Vinyl is an annual award that began in 2005. It celebrates artists and designers of vinyl record cover art. The nomination process begins in November and the winners are announced in January, and are exhibited at venues across the United Kingdom and Europe. Erik Blood is a musician, studio engineer, composer, and record producer from Seattle, Washington. He has released two solo albums: Touch Screens (2014) and Lost in Slow Motion (2016). He is also known for his work with, among other artists, the Seattle-based hip hop groups Shabazz Palaces and THEESatisfaction. He has often cited his friend Arlo's expansive collection of music for inspiring him. He has worked with Shabazz Palaces since they were formed in 2009. He also produced the Seattle punk rock band Tacocat's third album Lost Time. In 2014, he was nominated for a Stranger Genius Award in music.
