Harry William Arthurs OC OOnt FRSC FBA (born May 9,1935) is a Canadian lawyer,academic,and academic administrator. He is one of Canada's leading labour law scholars.
Born in Toronto,Ontario,he attended the Oakwood Collegiate Institute. [1] Dorothy Dworkin is his grandmother. [2] [3] He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1955 and a Bachelor of Laws degree in 1958 from the University of Toronto. He received a Master of Law in 1959 from the Harvard Law School. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 1961.
In 1961,he joined the faculty of the Osgoode Hall Law School as an Assistant Professor. In 1964,he was made an Associate Professor and a Professor in 1968. From 1968 to 1970 he was the Associate Dean and from 1972 to 1977,he was the Dean. From 1985 to 1992,he was the President of York University. In 1995,he was appointed University Professor of Law and Political Science.
In 2004,he was appointed Commissioner leading the review of federal Labour Standards,Part III of the Canada Labour Code,in 2006 as Chair of the Ontario Expert Commission on Pensions,and in 2010 as Chair of the Funding Review of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board.
He is the author of Without the Law:Administrative Justice and Legal Pluralism in Nineteenth Century England,published in 1985.

Dorothy Dworkin was a Canadian nurse,businesswoman and philanthropist. She was the first professionally trained nurse in Toronto's Jewish community and among its most prominent healthcare advocates. She led the fundraising campaign for the city's first Jewish hospital and is considered the matriarch of Mount Sinai Hospital. Through her family travel business,she helped thousands of Eastern European Jews immigrate to Canada and escape the Holocaust. Dworkin worked with many community charities and was a strong supporter of the Jewish trade unions through the city's Labour Lyceum. She was also the publisher and editor of a Yiddish newspaper and produced a Yiddish radio program. In 2009,she was recognized as a Person of National Historic Significance in Canada.

Eugenia Eduardovna Kumacheva is a University Professor and Distinguished Professor of Chemistry at the University of Toronto. Her research interests span across the fields of fundamental and applied polymers science,nanotechnology,microfluidics,and interface chemistry. She was awarded the L'Oréal-UNESCO Awards for Women in Science in 2008 "for the design and development of new materials with many applications including targeted drug delivery for cancer treatments and materials for high density optical data storage". In 2011,she published a book on the Microfluidic Reactors for Polymer Particles co-authored with Piotr Garstecki. She is Canadian Research Chair in Advanced Polymer Materials. She is Fellow of the Royal Society (FRS) and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada (FRSC).
