Harry Slatkin (born August 14, 1960) is an American businessman and philanthropist. Slatkin founded Slatkin & Co., a home fragrance company, in 1992 with his wife, Laura.

The New York Times called him the "king" of home fragrance [1] and celebrities like Oprah Winfrey and Elton John have been reported to use his home fragrances. [2] In 2005, the New York Daily News regarded Slatkin as one of the United States' fragrance experts. [3]

A former Bear Stearns director, he created Slatkin & Co in 1992. [4] Fans of the brand including Martha Stewart, Ralph Lauren, Tory Burch, Elton John, the Christian Dior company, have contracted with Slatkin to create home fragrance collections. [5] [ clarification needed ] In 2005, retailer Les Wexner purchased Slatkin & Co. for L Brands. [6] He named Slatkin as president of Home Design for Limited Brands as well as President of Slatkin & Co.,[ citation needed ] expanding home fragrance business over a billion dollars during his tenure.

Slatkin is an editor at Elle Décor and appears regularly on QVC, where he sells his fragrances. [7] He has made guest appearances on networks and shows including CNN, Extra TV , E! News , CNBC, ABC [8] and Comedy Central.

In June 2011, Slatkin, with Tommy Hilfiger and the Labelux Group, acquired Belstaff, a British outerwear brand. [9] Slatkin assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer. [10] [9] In 2014, he sold his shares back to Labelux.

Slatkin and his wife have two children together, David and Ali - twins.

Slatkin and his wife serve on the boards of various non-profit organizations including Autism Speaks, [11] [12] Henry Street Settlement House, [13] and NEXT for Autism, [12] which Slatkin and his wife founded and subsequently built the first charter school for autism in New York State. [14] The Slatkins also partnered with Weill Cornell Medicine and Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons to open the Center For Autism and the Developing Brain. [15]

Glow by JLo is a women's fragrance endorsed by American entertainer Jennifer Lopez, and released through Coty, Inc. It was conceived as far back as 1998 when Lopez announced a lifestyle line that would include a fragrance. Contradictory to assumptions that it would be unsuccessful, it performed extremely well, becoming America's top-selling fragrance. Glow Industries filed a lawsuit against Lopez and Coty to not use the term "Glow", however, a judge denied their request. Along with products from Lopez's fashion and lifestyle line, it brought in over $300 million by 2004. Subsequently, Glow became a successful woman's fragrance line.

House of Harlow is a lifestyle brand founded by actress, television personality and fashion designer Nicole Richie. In 2008, Richie launched a jewelry line titled House of Harlow 1960. In spring 2010, the line was extended to include apparel and shoes. House of Harlow 1960 later became a lifestyle brand including eyewear, swimwear, home fragrance, and accessories.

Heat is a perfume endorsed by American singer-songwriter Beyoncé. It was created by her alongside Claude Dir and Olivier Gillotin of the company Givaudan. The product, which was released on February 3, 2010, uses the tagline "catch the fever". The release was promoted with a cover version of "Fever" recorded by Beyoncé and a limited edition extended play (EP) also titled Heat. She also appeared at Macy's Herald Square to launch the perfume and on The Today Show where she discussed about Heat.

Tommy Hilfiger B.V., formerly known as Tommy Hilfiger Corporation and Tommy Hilfiger Inc., is a Dutch-based American clothing brand that manufactures apparel and licensed products such as footwear, accessories, fragrances and home furnishings. The company was founded in 1985, and its merchandise is sold in department stores and over 2000 free-standing retail stores in 100 countries.

<i>True Star</i> (perfume) Fragrance endorsed by Tommy Hilfiger

True Star is a fragrance endorsed by American fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger released in 2004. The release was followed with a revised version of Beyoncé Knowles' original cover of "Wishing on a Star" and a limited edition EP also titled True Star: A Private Performance. The fragrance's commercial shows the singer Beyoncé Knowles singing a capella the song. Knowles was a poster girl of the perfume. She received $250,000 for this campaign. True Star was followed by one additional release, the True Star Gold.

David Beckham Homme is a men's eau de toilette fragrance endorsed by English footballer David Beckham. The scent, which was released by Coty in September 2011, joined his existing scents David Beckham Instinct (2005) and Intimately Beckham (2006), a his-and-hers collection with his wife Victoria Beckham. The fragrance was launched as part of a new branding venture with business partner Simon Fuller, which also included a men's bodywear line and a number of other projects to capitalize on Beckham's worldwide commercial appeal.

Dee Ocleppo Hilfiger is an American fashion designer and entrepreneur. She was married from 1997 to 2003 to Gianni Ocleppo, with whom she had two children, including Julian Ocleppo. Since 2008, she has been married to fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger.

Karyn Khoury is an American perfumer. She is Senior Vice President of Fragrance Development Worldwide for The Estée Lauder Companies. In 2012, Khoury was honored as one of the most influential fragrance developers of our time at the Visionaries Gala and Awards Ceremony by the Museum of Arts and Design in New York along with Sophia Grosjman.

Alberto Morillas is a Spanish perfumer. He is a master perfumer at Swiss fragrance and flavor firm dsm-firmenich, where his notable creations have included Calvin Klein CK One, Giorgio Armani Acqua di Giò and Marc Jacobs Daisy. He has an independent line called Mizensir.

Aedes de Venustas is a niche perfume store and fragrance line. Aedes has operated in Manhattan since 1995. The house perfume line launched in 2012, although there was an earlier collaboration with L'Artisan Parfumeur creating a home fragrance (2005) and perfume (2008) also named Aedes de Venustas.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Santal 33</span> Le Labo perfume

Santal 33 is a 2011 sandalwood perfume by niche perfume line Le Labo. It was initially proposed as a personal fragrance by perfumer Frank Voelkl, but Le Labo founders Fabrice Penot and Eddie Roschi cut it from the perfume line for their 2006 launch and asked Voelkl to develop a candle and then a room spray instead, called Santal 26. By 2010 Penot and Roschi acceded to popular demand and asked Voelkl to develop a modified version as a personal perfume, Santal 33, which launched in 2011. Santal 33 quickly gained cult status, then grew into broad popularity, especially after Le Labo sold to Estée Lauder Companies and their fragrances went into much wider distribution. This development drew some disappointment from wearers who had prized its exclusivity.

Christina Aguilera Fragrances is a perfume brand by American singer Christina Aguilera. It was founded in 2007 in a deal with Procter & Gamble (P&G), who manufactured the products until 2016, after its production and distribution rights were bought out by Elizabeth Arden, Inc. In addition to fragrances, the brand has also worked with the production and sale of other cosmetics, including body lotions, body sprays, bath gels, and deodorants.
