Hassan Abyaba (1960) is a former cabinet member in the Moroccan government under Saad Eddine El Othmani. Between October 2019 and April 2020,he was the Moroccan Minister of Culture and Communication,the Minister of Youth and Sports,and the government spokesperson. [1]
Abyaba was born in Rass El Ain in the Settat region of Morocco. He earned his bachelor's in 1989 and master's degrees in economic geography. [2] In 2010,he earned his doctorate in geopolitical studies from Mohammed V University in Rabat. He worked as a professor in the Faculty of Letters at Ben M'Sick University.
In 2018,he was elected president of the Arab Liberal Federation. [2]
In October 2019,he was appointed by his majesty King Mohammed VI to serve as the Minister of Culture and Communication,the Minister of Youth and Sports as well as the government spokesperson under Head of Government Saad Eddine El Othmani in a government reshuffle. [1]
Abyaba has already had to address the world speaking for the government on issues such as crackdowns such as the arrest and imprisonment of Moroccan Rapper Gnawi for a controversial video,leading to questions about freedom of expression in Morocco. [3] [4]
As Minister of Culture,he worked with IESCO to put more Moroccan heritage sites on the Islamic World Heritage Site list. [5]

The State of Israel and the Kingdom of Morocco formally established diplomatic relations in 2020,when both sides signed the Israel–Morocco normalization agreement in light of the Abraham Accords. While official ties had previously not existed due to the Arab–Israeli conflict,the two countries maintained a secretive bilateral relationship on a number of fronts following the 1948 Arab–Israeli War. The Hirak Rif Movement or the Rif Movement is a popular resistance movement that organised mass protests in the Berber Rif region in northern Morocco between October 2016 and June 2017. The movement was triggered by the death of Mouhcine Fikri,a fishmonger who was crushed to death after jumping in the back of a garbage truck attempting to retrieve his allegedly illegal fish merchandise confiscated by local authorities.

The 2019 Egyptian protests were mass protests in Cairo,Alexandria,Damietta and other cities on 20,21 and 27 September 2019 in which the protestors called for President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to be removed from power. Security forces responded with tear gas,rubber bullets and,as of 23 October 2019,4300 arbitrary arrests had been made,based on data from the Egyptian Center for Economic and Social Rights,the Egyptian Commission for Rights and Freedoms,the Arabic Network for Human Rights Information,among which 111 were minors according to Amnesty International and the Belady Foundation. Prominent arrestees included human rights lawyer Mahienour el-Massry,journalist and former leader of the Constitution Party Khaled Dawoud and two professors of political science at Cairo University,Hazem Hosny and Hassan Nafaa. The wave of arrests was the biggest in Egypt since Sisi formally became president in 2014.
Saaïd Amzazi is a Moroccan politician. Previously he had served as Minister of National Education,Vocational Training,Higher Education and Scientific Research in the government of Saadeddine Othmani from January 22,2018 until 7 October 2021.
General elections were held in Morocco on 8 September 2021 to elect 395 members of the House of Representatives. The National Rally of Independents led by Aziz Akhannouch won the most seats (102),a gain of 65 seats from the prior election. The liberal Authenticity and Modernity Party took second place with 87 seats,a net loss of 15 seats. The centre-right Istiqlal Party gained 35 seats and took third place with 81 seats total. The governing Justice and Development Party suffered an electoral wipeout and won only 13 seats,a net loss of 112 seats for the party.
