ViajeHoy, LLC trading as Havana Air is a virtual airline offering scheduled charter services from Miami and Tampa, Florida to Cuba. [1] The company was founded in the United States in 2007 and specializes in tourism to Cuba from the United States.
Havana Air serves several cities in Cuba. Since March 2020, the US government restricted flights from the US to Havana only. President Joe Biden reverted the Trump’s administration restrictions on flights to Cuba.
As of September 2017, Havana Air doesn't operate any aircraft. It had since contracted with IAero Airways for its flights.[ citation needed ]

José Martí International Airport, sometimes known by its former name Rancho Boyeros Airport, is an international airport located 20 kilometres (12 mi) southwest of the centre of Havana, Cuba, and is a hub for Cubana de Aviación and Aerogaviota, and former Latin American hub for the Soviet airline Aeroflot. It is Cuba's main international airport, and serves several million passengers each year. The facility is operated by Empresa Cubana de Aeropuertos y Servicios Aeronáuticos (ECASA).
Cubana de Aviación S.A., commonly known as Cubana, is Cuba's flag carrier, as well as the country's largest airline. Chicago and Southern Air Lines (C&S) was a United States airline that started life as Pacific Seaboard Air Lines in California and was organized on June 15, 1933. Following the move from California, the airline's headquarters were initially located in St. Louis, Missouri, and were then moved to Memphis, Tennessee, which also served as a hub for the carrier. C&S was merged into Delta Air Lines in 1953, thus providing Delta with its first international routes.
iAero Airways, previously named Swift Air, was an American charter airline based in Greensboro, North Carolina with its main hub at Miami International Airport. The airline announced that it would cease all operations on April 6, 2024 after failed restructuring efforts during bankruptcy proceedings.

Cubana de Aviación Flight 972 was a scheduled domestic flight operated by Mexican charter airline Global Air on behalf of Cubana de Aviación, from José Martí International Airport, Havana, Cuba, to Frank País Airport in Holguín, Cuba. On 18 May 2018, the 39-year-old Boeing 737-201 Adv. operating the route crashed shortly after takeoff, near Santiago de las Vegas, 19 kilometres from Havana city centre. Of those on board, 112 died and one passenger survived with critical injuries. There were initially four survivors, but three of them later died at a local hospital. Most of the passengers on board were Cuban nationals, although the crew was entirely Mexican.
Trans World Airlines Flight 106 was a scheduled passenger flight from Phoenix, Arizona to Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. On November 27, 1971, the Boeing 727 servicing the flight was hijacked by three armed and wanted men at Albuquerque International Sunport in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA and flown to Havana, Cuba.
