Head is the debut studio album by the American band the Jesus Lizard. [2] [3] It was released on Touch and Go Records in 1990. It was their first album to feature a drummer, Mac McNeilly.

The Windsor Star determined that "the droning vocals and sound effects produce some mesmerizing results." [12] Trouser Press noted that McNeilly's "self-possessed demeanor is reminiscent of Charlie Watts at his most implacable." [13]

Girls Against Boys is a post-hardcore band which formed in Washington, D.C., and subsequently relocated to New York City shortly after their formation in 1989. The band then sporadically played shows from 2003 until 2009 when they became inactive as a whole. In 2013, Girls Against Boys briefly toured and self-released their first new material in 11 years. After another hiatus in 2017, they reunited for a longer term in 2021.

Both singles were co-written by Billy Burnette, who was one of the guitarists enlisted to replace Lindsey Buckingham in 1987. On the Behind the Mask Tour, "In the Back of My Mind" was played as the opening song of the set.

Phantom 309 was an American noise rock band formed in Atlanta by Gary Held, John Forbes and Mac McNeilly. They existed for a brief amount of time and recorded one full-length album, titled A Sinister Alphabet, in 1989.

"Mouth Breather" is a 1990 song by American rock band The Jesus Lizard from the album Goat. It was revealed in the documentary Breadcrumb Trail that the song was based on Steve Albini's opinion of Slint drummer Britt Walford, after Walford had house sat for him.
