Murray is a city situated on the Wasatch Front in the core of Salt Lake Valley in the U.S. state of Utah. Named for territorial governor Eli Murray, the city had a population of 50,637 as of the 2020 United States Census. Murray shares borders with Taylorsville, Holladay, South Salt Lake, Millcreek and West Jordan, Utah. Once teeming with heavy industry, Murray's industry mix has now shifted significantly toward healthcare, retail, and professional, scientific, and technical services. Known for its central location in Salt Lake County, Murray has been called the Hub of Salt Lake County. Unlike most of its neighboring communities, Murray operates its own police, fire, power, water, library, and parks and recreation departments and has its own school district. While maintaining many of its own services, Murray has one of the lowest city tax rates in the state.
The Indiana Hoosiers are the intercollegiate sports teams and players of Indiana University Bloomington, named after the demonym for people from the state of Indiana. The Hoosiers participate in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in 24 sports and became a member of the Big Ten Conference on December 1, 1899. The school's official colors are cream and crimson.
Etuini Haloti Ngata is an American former professional football player who was a defensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Oregon Ducks, earning consensus All-American honors. Ngata was selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the first round of the 2006 NFL draft, and was voted to the Pro Bowl five times. Ngata played for the Ravens for nine seasons before being traded to the Detroit Lions before the 2015 NFL season. Ngata was also a member of the Philadelphia Eagles for one season in 2018 before retiring.

The film is about a troubled rugby union player who must play against the team his father coaches at the national championships. Forever Strong is based on a compilation of individual true stories.
Sione Sonasi "Bo" Po'uha is an American football coach and former defensive tackle. On December 20, 2022, Po'uha accepted the position of defensive tackles coach at Brigham Young University. He previously served as the defensive line coach at the University of Utah, for whom he played college football. He is an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Hillcrest High School is a public high school located in Midvale, Utah, and is part of the Canyons School District. Hillcrest High School is the only school in the Canyons School District that offers the International Baccalaureate Program, and one of only four high schools in the valley to do so - the others being Highland High School West High School and Skyline High School.

Haws was a standout high school basketball player, becoming the all-time leading scorer at his school, being twice named Utah's Mr. Basketball, and winning Utah's Gatorade Player of the Year. At Brigham Young University (BYU), Haws was named the 2014 West Coast Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year and set the school record for career points.

Lone Peak High School (LPHS) is a public high school in Highland, Utah, United States. Part of the Alpine School District, in northern Utah County, it was built in 1997 to serve students in the cities of Alpine, Highland, and Cedar Hills. Lone Peak High School was given athletic 5A status beginning at the 2005-2006 school year. However, it has since been given a 6A status. The school mascot is a knight.
Marcus Anthony Mailei is a former American football fullback. After playing college football for Weber State, he was signed by the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2009. He was a member of the New Orleans Saints from 2009–2010.
The 2012 BYU Cougars football team represented Brigham Young University in the 2012 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Cougars, led by head coach Bronco Mendenhall, played their home games at LaVell Edwards Stadium. This was the second year BYU competed as an independent. They finished the season 8–5. They were invited to the Poinsettia Bowl where they defeated San Diego State.
Starlite Lotulelei Jr. is a Tongan former professional player of American football who was a defensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL). He was selected by the Carolina Panthers in the first round of the 2013 NFL draft. He played college football for the Utah Utes, and shared the Morris Trophy for the best lineman in the Pac-12 Conference.
George "Leki" Fotu is an American professional football defensive tackle for the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Utah and was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL draft.
Frank Maile is an American football coach who is currently the defensive ends coach at Washington State University. He served as the interim head coach for Utah State for their bowl game against North Texas in 2018, as well as in 2020 when Gary Andersen was fired.
Noah Sewell is an American Samoan professional football linebacker for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL). A native of American Samoa, he and his family moved to Utah in 2012 before playing college football at Oregon, where he was named the Pac-12 Defensive Freshman of the Year in 2020 before being selected by the Bears in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL draft. Sewell is the younger brother of NFL players Penei and Nephi Sewell.
