Hill West Architects (formerly Goldstein, Hill & West Architects) is a New York City based architecture firm which works on the planning and design of high-rise residential and hospitality buildings, retail structures and multi-use complexes. They have participated in the design of prominent structures in the New York City metropolitan area. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] The firm was founded in 2009 by Alan Goldstein, L. Stephen Hill and David West.

History

The co-founders of Hill West, L. Stephen Hill and David West, are members of the American Institute of Architects. [8] In 2017, the firm's name was changed from Goldstein, Hill & West Architects to Hill West Architects. The decision to rebrand and rename reflects the retirement of longtime partner, Alan Goldstein, who co-founded Goldstein, Hill & West in 2008. [9]

Whitehall Interiors NYC

In February 2014, [67] Hill West launched Whitehall Interiors NYC, a New York City-based, affiliated interior design firm focused on the creation of interiors for residential and commercial properties. The firm's projects have included the lobby renovation of The Feil Organization's 7 Penn Plaza and 488 Madison Avenue. [68] [69] [70] [71] [72]

One Riverside Park is a skyscraper at 40 Riverside Boulevard in Riverside South, on the Upper West Side neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. Its name was later changed to 50 Riverside Boulevard following media reports related to the development's "poor door". The building consists of 33 floors containing 219 residential units.

15 Hudson Yards is a residential skyscraper on Manhattan's West Side, completed in 2019. Located in Chelsea near Hell's Kitchen Penn Station area, the building is a part of the Hudson Yards project, a plan to redevelop the Metropolitan Transportation Authority's West Side Yards.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Abington House</span> Residential skyscraper in Manhattan, New York

Abington House is a residential building in Chelsea, in Manhattan, New York City just outside the Hudson Yards Redevelopment Project. There are 386 rental apartments at the building, located at the southwest corner of 30th Street and Tenth Avenue. Robert A.M. Stern Architects designed the building, and The Related Companies developed the building. There is about 7,200 square feet (670 m2) of rental space on the ground floor of the 33-story, 325 feet (99 m)-tall building; the building also has a pre-fabricated red brick facade. The building, the first to open in the area under the zoning of the Hudson Yards Redevelopment Project, has 78 permanent units. It started leasing in April 2014, two years after beginning construction in 2012.

111 West 57th Street, also known as Steinway Tower, is a supertall residential skyscraper in the Midtown Manhattan neighborhood of New York City, United States. Developed by JDS Development Group and Property Markets Group, it is situated along Billionaires' Row on the north side of 57th Street near Sixth Avenue. The main portion of the building is an 84-story, 1,428-foot (435-meter) tower designed by SHoP Architects and completed in 2021. Preserved at the base is the 16-story Steinway Building, a former Steinway & Sons store designed by Warren and Wetmore and completed in 1925, which originally carried the address 111 West 57th Street.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Central Park Tower</span> Residential skyscraper in Manhattan, New York

Central Park Tower is a residential supertall skyscraper at 225 West 57th Street, along Billionaires' Row, in the Midtown Manhattan neighborhood of New York City, New York, U.S. Designed by Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture, the building rises 1,550 feet (472.4 m) with 98 above-ground stories and three basement stories, although the top story is numbered 136. Central Park Tower is the second-tallest building in New York City, the United States, and the Western Hemisphere; the 15th tallest building in the world; the tallest primarily residential building in the world; and the tallest building outside Asia by roof height.

Madison Square Park Tower, previously 45 East 22nd Street, is a skyscraper completed in 2017 and located between Broadway and Park Avenue South in the Flatiron District neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. The building was designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and developed by Ian Bruce Eichner's Continuum Company. It was the second skyscraper to be built on that block, after One Madison.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Sky (skyscraper)</span> Residential building in Manhattan, New York

Sky, also known as 605 West 42nd Street, is a mixed-use building at 42nd Street and 11th Avenue in the Hudson Yards neighborhood of Manhattan in New York City. Developed by the Moinian Group, the 63-story tower contains luxury rental residences designed by the Rockwell Group, ranging from studios to two bedrooms and includes the Vue Penthouse Collection. Sky features over 70,000 square feet of amenity space, mostly operated by Life Time Fitness, which includes a multi-level gym, water club and LifeSpa, lap pool, professional size basketball court, two outdoor zero edge pools, and an outdoor park. The building also contains retail space, in part, occupied by the Manhattan Volvo car dealership. It was designed by Goldstein, Hill & West Architects, and at 676 feet, it is the 92nd tallest building in New York.

The Copper are a pair of luxury residential skyscrapers in the Murray Hill neighborhood of Manhattan in New York City. The buildings were developed by JDS Development and were designed by SHoP Architects with interiors by SHoP and K&Co. The buildings are one of several major collaborations between JDS and SHoP; others include 111 West 57th Street, also in Manhattan, and The Brooklyn Tower in Brooklyn.

The building was developed by Largo and JDS Development Group and designed by Roman and Williams, a New York City-based architecture and design team. It is the firm’s third building design, after 211 Elizabeth and the Viceroy Hotel.

45 Broad Street is a residential building being constructed in the Financial District of Manhattan in New York City. The building was originally planned as Lower Manhattan's tallest residential tower. Excavation started in 2017, but as of 2020, construction is on hold.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Waterline Square</span> Residential skyscrapers in Manhattan, New York

Waterline Square is a 5-acre (2.0 ha), $2.3 billion luxury condominium and rental development near the Hudson River on the Upper West Side of Manhattan in New York City. The complex includes three residential towers with 1,132 units and 3 acres (1.2 ha) of park, along with 100,000 square feet (9,300 m2) of amenity space. The residences range in size from one to five bedrooms.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">19 Dutch</span> Residential skyscraper in Manhattan, New York

19 Dutch is a residential building in the Financial District neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. The building was developed by Carmel Partners and was designed by GK+V, with SLCE Architects as the architect of record. GK+V also designed the nearby 5 Beekman. The building contains 482 units and retail space on the first several floors. In February 2018, Carmel began leasing out the 97 affordable apartments. Carmel placed the building for sale in 2022, and Amancio Ortega, the founder of Zara, agreed in July 2022 to buy 19 Dutch via his holding firm Pontegadea for about $500 million.

The developers planned to sell the condominiums for a total of $535.7 million, or an average of $4.3 million per unit.

520 Fifth Avenue is a mixed-use supertall building under construction at Fifth Avenue and 43rd Street in the Midtown Manhattan neighborhood of New York City. The building occupies the former site of three structures. Mickey Rabina is developing the building, and architectural firm Kohn Pedersen Fox designed the structure and serves as architect of record. The interior design is by Charles & Co.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">262 Fifth Avenue</span> Residential skyscraper in Manhattan, New York

262 Fifth Avenue is a residential skyscraper under construction on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, New York City. Five Points Development is developing the building, which is being developed by Boris Kuzinez and designed by architectural firm Meganom. SLCE Architects is the executive architect. The structure is 860 feet (260 m) high, with 26 apartments across 54 stories. Work on the site began in 2017 when the existing structures were demolished, though construction of the skyscraper's foundation did not begin until 2022. The building topped out in April 2024, and apartment sales began that December.

Charney Companies is an American fully-integrated real estate development, brokerage and management firm with headquarters in Long Island City, New York. Founded in 2013 by Sam Charney, the company has developed and operates over two million square feet of mixed-use, mixed income residential, and retail properties throughout the New York metropolitan area.
