Myriam Bédard, is a Canadian retired biathlete. She represented Canada at two Winter Olympics winning gold medals, and a bronze medal. As of 2022, Bédard is the only Canadian biathlete, male or female, ever to win an Olympic medal, and the only North American biathlete ever to win Olympic gold.
Biathlon at the 2006 Winter Olympics consisted of ten biathlon events. They were held at the Cesana-San Sicario arena. The events began on 11 February and ended on 25 February 2006. Approximately 6,500 spectators were expected by the organizing committee. In these games, biathlon events were open to both men and women but they raced in different distances in their own events.

The Guam delegation included only one athlete biathlete, Judd Bankert, who became Guam's first Olympic athlete. In his only event, the sprint, Bankert finished in 71st out of 72 competitors.

Annette Sikveland is a former Norwegian biathlete. During her career as biathlete Sikveland won three relay medals, bronze at the World Championships 1995 in Antholz, silver at the World Championships 1997 in Brezno-Osrblie and bronze at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano. Her best individual olympic placing is 8th from the 15 km at the same Olympics. She retired as biathlete after that Olympics. She lives today in the German town of Schmalkalden. For a period, she lived together with the German biathlete Sven Fischer.
Dmitry Vladimirovich Vasilyev is a former Russian biathlete. At the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo, Vasilyev won a gold medal with the Soviet relay team, which consisted of himself, Juri Kashkarov, Algimantas Šalna and Sergei Bulygin. He received another relay gold medal at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary.

She represented Belarus at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi and the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. She won a bronze medal in the individual competition at the 2014 Winter Olympics. She won a gold medal in the 4×6 km relay at the 2018 Olympics In the 2017–2018 season Skardino won the Individual World Cup.
Vita Semerenko is a Ukrainian biathlete. She is Olympic champion in women's relay, Olympic medalist and multiple World championships medalist. She is one of the most successful Ukrainian winter athletes.
