Metal.de rated the album highly, stating that it was a good successor to the previous album Vierte Version, although noting that the samples used were less aggressive. [2] AllMusic said that "they [Feindflug] do one dark thing and they do it extremely well." [3] Chain D.L.K. gave a positive review, though stating the video accompanying Roter Schnee was "really not that great." [4] IndustrialReviews.ru and DarkItalia.com also gave positive reviews, both noting the unique style of music. [5] [6]

Katja Kauer stated in the book Pop und Männlichkeit that the title of the album suggests that the portrayal of mental knowledge can coexist with the displays of physical masculinity usually seen in industrial music. [7]

Electro-industrial is a music genre that emerged from industrial music in the early 1980s. While EBM has a minimal structure and clean production, electro-industrial tends to have a grittier, complex and layered sound with a more experimental approach. In the early 1990s, the style spawned the dark electro genre, and in the mid-/late-1990s, the aggrotech offshoot. The fan base for the style is linked to the rivethead subculture.
