Hogan's Heroes is the eponymously titled second studio album [1] by the American hardcore punk band Hogan's Heroes [2] and was released on May 18, 1990, through New Red Archives. [3] [4] [5] [6] It was recorded at Saatchi & Saatchi's Sonic Edge Studios. [7] It was Produced by Hogan's Heroes and Ryk Oakley.

Album information

The album was recorded in 1989 at advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi, in New York City.[ citation needed ] In August 1989 after recording basic tracks, Cuccinello moved to Florida for ten months, Hogan's Heroes (Barberio, Scandiffio, Hoefling) produced the Import/Caroline/Rough Trade [8] distributed release with Ryk Oakley (Kraut, UK Subs). After a summer of shows, in August 1990, Cuccinello (bass) left the group for Florida and was replaced by Brian Brain Mooney. [8] Hogan's Heroes continued to play gigs eventually parting with Tony Scandiffio (drums) May 1991.

The album's cover showed a live aid concert . The visual effect is of a painted upside down photo.

Reception

In Maximum RockNRolls', The Record Review, Tim Yohannan, founder of Maximum Rocknroll (MRR), said about Hogan's Heroes ...... "This is their second, on which they do HC, reggae, rock and metal influenced punk and more. Varied, well done..." [9]

In the January Top 10 issue East Coast Rocker said Hogan's Heroes "Top 10 New Jersey, Independent Release of 1990..." [10]

With the exception of, "First", "Let's Rock", "Righteous", "Breaking Your Rules", "Kalm", "She's Gone", and "Full On", all of the material for Hogan's Heroes was written before 1989.

Randy is a Swedish punk rock band from Hortlax, Sweden, formed in 1992. They were first inspired by skate punk bands like NOFX and Propagandhi but after the release of The Rest Is Silence and the departure of their bass player Patrik Trydvall, they radically changed their musical style and adopted an older sound reminiscent of Thin Lizzy, The Misfits and Ramones, heavily leaning on a fusion of garage punk and pop to form their new sound. Their first album after the transition in style, You Can't Keep a Good Band Down, earned praise from MaximumRockNRoll, which called it "the best melodic punk CD since Bad Religion's No Control." After his departure, Patrik went on to contribute lead vocals in his now-disbanded punk rock group, Diefenbaker.

New Red Archives is an American independent record label based in California's San Francisco Bay Area, mainly home to punk rock bands. Started in 1987, the label began by releasing punk and hardcore punk records on coloured vinyl. Starting in summer 1990 after a re-location from Brooklyn, the label was based out of Hollywood. In 1996 The label signed an exclusive distribution deal with Dutch East India Trading. By 1998 the label had moved to San Francisco. Starting in the early 2000s the label released CDs as well as vinyl, through the distribution company Lumberjack Mordam Music Group.

Bored were an Australian punk band formed in Geelong in 1987. The original line-up was Grant Gardner on bass guitar, Adrian Hann on keyboards, Justin Munday on drums, John Nolan on guitar and Dave Thomas on guitar and vocals. In 1989 Gardner was replaced by Tim Hemensley. Both Hemensley and Nolan left in 1991 to form Powder Monkeys. Bored! released five studio albums by 1993 and disbanded later that year. Thomas briefly joined Magic Dirt and subsequently enlisted various line-ups for reformed versions of Bored! in 1998, 1999 and 2000.
