The Cranberries were an Irish rock band formed in Limerick, Ireland. Originally named the Cranberry Saw Us, the band was formed in 1989 by lead singer Niall Quinn, guitarist Noel Hogan, bassist Mike Hogan, and drummer Fergal Lawler. Quinn was replaced as lead singer by Dolores O'Riordan in 1990, and the group changed their name to the Cranberries. The band classified themselves as an alternative rock group, but incorporated aspects of indie rock, jangle pop, dream pop, folk rock, post-punk and pop rock into their sound.
Taking Back Sunday is an American rock band from Long Island, New York. The band was formed by guitarist Eddie Reyes and bassist Jesse Lacey in 1999. The band's members currently are Adam Lazzara, John Nolan, Shaun Cooper and Mark O'Connell (drums), accompanied by Nathan Cogan (guitar) for their live performances. The band's former members include Lacey, Reyes, bassist Matthew Rubano, and guitarist-vocalists Fred Mascherino and Matthew Fazzi.
Nicholas More Seymour is an Australian musician and record producer. He is the founding bass guitarist and a mainstay of the rock group Crowded House, and is the younger brother of Mark Seymour, singer-songwriter-guitarist in the rock band Hunters and Collectors.

Destination is the second studio album from Irish singer-songwriter Ronan Keating. It was released by Polydor Records on 20 May 2002. The album debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and was certified two-times platinum by the British Phonographic Industry. In Ireland, the album debuted at number three. Additionally, the album charted within the top ten of nine other European countries. In 2002, Destination was certified platinum by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry for shipments of one million copies inside Europe. The album includes the singles "If Tomorrow Never Comes", "I Love It When We Do", "We've Got Tonight", and "The Long Goodbye", all of which peaked inside the top ten of the UK Singles Chart.

"I Love It When We Do" is the second single from Irish singer-songwriter Ronan Keating's second studio album, Destination. It was first released in Australia on 2 September 2002 and was issued in the United Kingdom seven days later. The single peaked at number five on the UK Singles Chart and reached the top 40 in Australia and Ireland. In 2003, Keating re-recorded the song with additional vocals from French actress and singer Cécilia Cara, re-titled "Je t'aime plus que tout". This version peaked at number 11 in France and number nine in the Wallonia region of Belgium.

"We've Got Tonite" is a song written by American rock music artist Bob Seger, from his album Stranger in Town (1978). The single record charted twice for Seger, and was developed from a prior song that he had written. Mark McGuinn is an American country music artist. He made his debut in 2001 with the single "Mrs. Steven Rudy", a Top 10 hit on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts. It was the first of three singles from his first album Mark McGuinn, which was released in 2001 on the independent VFR Records label. The label was closed in 2002, and McGuinn did not a record another album until One Man's Crazy in 2006, released on Blue Flamingo Records. He has not recorded an album since then.

Originally, this album was intended to be the soundtrack for a movie called The Lamb that would star Brooks as a rock star recalling the different periods of his life. This album was purposely released a year in advance from the scheduled film release date to pique interest in Brooks performing rock instead of country. The Lamb, however, was never filmed due to financial and management problems.

Monsters of Folk was an American supergroup, consisting of Jim James from My Morning Jacket, Conor Oberst and Mike Mogis from Bright Eyes, Will Johnson from Centro-matic and M. Ward, solo artist and half of She & Him. The band was formed in 2004 when the members were on tour with their respective bands and solo projects. After playing together both on-stage and backstage, they started working together on various material. Due to the members' main projects, Monsters of Folk did not finish their first album until 2009, and it was released on September 22 on Rough Trade. It debuted at No. 143 on the Billboard 200 and peaked at 15. It also reached No. 3 on Top Independent Albums, No. 8 on Top Rock Albums, No. 7 on Top Digital Albums, and No. 6 on Top Alternative Albums.
