Holly Hull is a British singer from Camberley in Surrey. After performing for Elizabeth II in 2006, she won the Disney Channel UK talent search My Camp Rock in April 2009 and released a version of "This Is Me" alongside a music video. In 2013, she formed the country-pop girl group eventually named Remember Monday with two people she met whilst in college. The band went on to reach the Knockout stages of the eighth series of The Voice UK, perform on The Jennifer Hudson Show, and represent the BBC at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 with "What the Hell Just Happened?".
Hull is from Camberley in Surrey [1] and started singing aged seven. [2] She attended Our Lady’s Preparatory School in Crowthorne, [3] Licensed Victuallers' School, [2] and the London School of Musical Theatre. [4] Her first performances were with Stagecoach Performing Arts. By May 2006, Hull had joined Guildford School of Acting and National Youth Music Theatre; that month, as part of the latter, she performed at Elizabeth II's 80th Birthday celebrations at Windsor Castle. She met Elizabeth and Princess Beatrice after the performance and was asked by the former why she was not wearing shoes. [3] In April 2009, she won the Disney Channel UK competition My Camp Rock , [2] the prize for which was recording her own version of "This Is Me" alongside a music video. [5] A subsequent performance of the song at a school assembly was filmed by a Disney TV crew. [6]

In 2013, Hull formed Houston with Lauren Byrne and Charlotte Steele, [7] who she had met at Sixth Form College, Farnborough [8] aged 17; [9] the band changed their name to Remember Monday in 2018. [10] By January 2019, both Hull and Steele had begun teaching at Bracknell theatre schools, Hull at BARTA Theatre Academy. That month, the band performed on The Voice UK series 8, where they auditioned with "Kiss from a Rose" by Seal. All four judges turned including three men and Jennifer Hudson, [4] the latter of whom threw a shoe at them, [9] a practice Hudson considered complimentary. [11] The band selected Hudson as their mentor for that reason and because she was the only female coach. [4] The band performed Phillip Phillips's "Home" at the Battle round and won against Kieron Smith, [12] but left the competition during the Knockout stages after trying on "Jailbreaker", one of their own songs. [13] The band performed "Hand in My Pocket" by Alanis Morissette on Hudson's chat show in 2024 and released an EP, Crazy Anyway, that October. [14]
On 7 February 2025, the band were announced as the BBC's entrant for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. [15] The offhand nature of their announcement, made by Nat O'Leary and Vicky Hawkesworth on their BBC Radio 1 show that morning, sparked ridicule on social media, as the corporation had not yet announced them [14] and would not do so until 7 March 2025. [16] They were the first girl band to represent the BBC since Precious did so at the 1999 contest [17] and did so with "What the Hell Just Happened?", which they wrote with Billen Ted, Julie Aagaard , and Thomas Stengaard , the last of whom had cowritten "Only Teardrops", which had won the 2013 contest.
