Homemade Christmas is an EP by American drag queen Trixie Mattel, released on December 1, 2017. [1] [2]

Background and release

Brian Michael Firkus, better known by the stage name Trixie Mattel, competed in the seventh season of RuPaul's Drag Race in 2015. After appearing on Drag Race, Mattel appeared in the web series UNHhhh on WOWPresents with fellow season seven contestant Katya Zamolodchikova, known mononymously as Katya. The duo later went on to star in The Trixie & Katya Show , which premiered on Viceland on November 15, 2017. [3] [4]

Prior to Homemade Christmas, Trixie Mattel released the country album Two Birds in May 2017. Katya appears on the holiday EP, which was released on December 1, 2017 via Apple Music, iTunes, and Spotify. [1]

Homemade Christmas includes three acoustic tracks of holiday music. Lyrically, "Christmas Without You" is about loneliness during the season. [1] "The Night Before Contact" is a parody of "A Visit from St. Nicholas" (more commonly known as "'Twas the Night Before Christmas"), performed by Katya. [1] "All I Want for Christmas Is Nudes" is a parody of Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You". [5] [6]

Reception

Instinct 's David Lopez said "Christmas Without You" was reminiscent of Trixie Mattel's previous studio album. He said of "The Night Before Contact": "Personally, after hearing this, I think Katya could be the new voice of the omnipresent narrator if they ever remade How the Grinch Stole Christmas!" [1]

I Like to Watch is a 2019 American web series hosted by drag queens Trixie Mattel and Katya Zamolodchikova. The series was created by Netflix, and streams on the company's YouTube channel. I Like to Watch films its hosts as they view and react to various Netflix Original Programming and licensed films streaming on Netflix. The first season aired from November 21, 2019 to March 21, 2020. A second season, recorded in the duo's homes during the COVID-19 pandemic, premiered on May 23, 2020. The third season, still recorded from home but with the hosts together in person before moving to a new set, premiered on February 20, 2021. The series won a People's Voice Webby Award in 2022. In 2023 the series won a Bronze Anthem Award in the Awareness & Media categories for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.

RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars is an American reality competition spin off edition of the original RuPaul's Drag Race, which is produced by World of Wonder, for Logo TV and later VH1. The show premiered on October 22, 2012, on Logo TV, before relocating to VH1. However, it was announced on February 20, 2020, on the show's official Twitter account that the fifth season would premiere on June 5, 2020, on Showtime. Following the cast announcement on May 8, 2020, producers announced that the show would remain airing on VH1 instead of Showtime due to the COVID-19 pandemic which caused "various scheduling and programming adjustments". On February 24, 2021, Paramount+ announced via Twitter that the streaming service would be the new home to the series for the sixth season.

UNHhhh is an American comedy web series starring drag queens Trixie Mattel and Katya Zamolodchikova. In the series, Trixie and Katya discuss a topic humorously in front of a green screen. UNHhhh premiered on March 25, 2016, one year after Mattel and Zamolodchikova appeared in the seventh season of RuPaul's Drag Race. The show is aired through World Of Wonder's YouTube channel, as well as through its video-on-demand service WOW Presents Plus. UNHhhh has been nominated for nine Streamy Awards throughout its run, winning Unscripted Series at the 2020 ceremony, which the duo also hosted.

James Heath-Clark, known professionally as Honey Davenport, is an American drag performer, singer, songwriter, actor and activist. Davenport was a longtime fixture of the New York City nightlife scene and came to international attention as a contestant on season 11 of RuPaul's Drag Race. Born in West Philadelphia, Heath-Clark attended college for musical theatre in New York, where he began his career as a backup dancer for Peppermint. He later established his own dance group, The Hunties. After taking up drag, Davenport became active in the pageant circuit of that community, winning 18 titles between 2013 and 2018. In 2013, she and her band, Electrohoney, released an eponymous album and starred in a live rock opera called The Electric Highway. She also performed in two off-Broadway shows, The Orion Experience (2013) and Trinkets (2017–2018). In the latter, she played the leading role.

Trixie Mattel: Moving Parts is a documentary film starring drag queen and singer-songwriter Trixie Mattel. It was directed by Nick Zeig-Owens and produced by David Silver, and premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 25, 2019. Following screenings, Mattel performed several songs on stage. The documentary was made available on video on demand platforms on December 3, 2019.

Trixie and Katya's Guide to Modern Womanhood is a 2020 book by drag queens Trixie and Katya, published by Plume Books, an imprint of Penguin Group. It was published in the UK and Australia by Penguin's Ebury Publishing imprint. It is a parody of self-help and etiquette books for women. It includes both serious and satirical advice on housekeeping, fashion and relationships.

Trixie and Katya is a comedy duo consisting of drag queens Trixie Mattel and Katya Zamolodchikova. The two have been known for their individual careers as entertainers and often as a popular double act. They first met as contestants on the seventh season of RuPaul's Drag Race and quickly became audience favourites, developing an even larger audience as they began to appear together in December 2015 on YouTube.
