Horizon Pipeline is a natural gas pipeline in northern Illinois, United States. Its FERC code is 178. [1]

The pipeline is owned and operated by Horizon Pipeline Company LLC, a joint venture of the Natural Gas Pipeline Company of America (NGPL), owned by Kinder Morgan Energy Partners, and Nicor. It carries natural gas from the NGPL's interstate natural gas pipeline system Chicago supply hub near Joliet into NGPL's and Nicor Gas distribution systems in northern Illinois near Wisconsin border. [2] The pipeline is 73 miles (117 km) long and has a diameter of 36 inches (910 mm) with capacity of 3.7 billion cubic meter of natural gas per year. [3] [4] [5] It is designed to operate at a maximum operating pressure of 800 pounds per square inch (5,500 kPa). [2] It consists of a 27-mile (43 km) segment of new pipeline built in 2001–2002, and 46-mile (74 km) long lease of existing pipeline from NGPL. [3]

The environmental impact assessment of the pipeline was completed in May 2001. [6] The pipeline became operational on 11 May 2002. [3]

The company is located at 601 Travis Street in Downtown Houston. The company was founded in 1984 as Natural Gas Clearinghouse. It was originally an energy brokerage, buying and selling natural gas supplies. It changed its name to NGC Corporation in 1995 after entering the electrical power generation business.

East Tennessee Natural Gas Pipeline is a natural gas pipeline that brings gas from eastern Tennessee to Virginia and North Carolina. It was formerly owned by Duke Energy but is now owned by Enbridge. Its FERC code is 2.

Kern River Pipeline

Kern River Pipeline is a 1,679-mile (2,702 km) long natural gas pipeline line extending from southwestern Wyoming to its terminus near Bakersfield, California. The pipeline supplies local gas distribution companies, power plants, and heavy industry in Utah, Nevada, and California. It is owned and operated by the Kern River Gas Transmission Company, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Energy. Its FERC code is 99.

Questar Pipeline Company (QPC) provides natural gas transportation and underground storage services from the Rocky Mountains region. Its FERC code is 55. Questar Pipeline is a subsidiary of Questar Corporation. Questar Corporation was acquired in 2016 by Dominion Energy.

The Southern Trails Pipeline is a 16-inch-diameter steel natural gas pipeline which brings gas from the San Juan Basin to southern California, United States. It has a 487-mile eastern branch in New Mexico and a 210-mile western branch in California. Its FERC code is 182.

Texas Eastern Pipeline (TETCo) is a major natural gas pipeline which brings gas from the Gulf of Mexico coast in Texas and Louisiana up through Mississippi, Arkansas, Tennessee, Missouri, Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Pennsylvania to deliver gas in the New York City area. It is one of the largest pipeline systems in the United States. It is owned by Enbridge. Its FERC code is 17.

Trailblazer Pipeline is a natural gas pipeline that brings natural gas from Colorado into Nebraska, where the pipeline joins the NGPL. It is owned by Tallgrass Energy Partners, LP is a private master limited partnership (MLP) headquartered in Overland Park, KS. On August 17, 2012, Tallgrass entered into a purchase and sale agreement with Kinder Morgan Energy Partners, L.P. to buy Kinder Morgan Interstate Gas Transmission, Trailblazer Pipeline Company, the Casper-Douglas natural gas processing and West Frenchie Draw treating facilities in Wyoming, and KMP's 50 percent interest in the Rockies Express Pipeline. Tallgrass closed this acquisition on November 13, 2012. Its FERC code is 68.

Trunkline Pipeline is a natural gas pipeline system which brings gas from the Gulf coast of Texas and Louisiana through Mississippi, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Kentucky to deliver gas in Illinois and Indiana. It connects to the Henry Hub, Egan Hub, and Perryville Hub. The total length of the system is 3,059 miles (4,923 km) and its capacity is 1.5 billion cubic feet per day. It is operated by Trunkline Gas Company, a subsidiary of Energy Transfer Partners. Its FERC code is 30.

Vector Pipeline L.P. is a 348-mile-long natural gas pipeline which transports approximately 1 billion cubic feet (28,000,000 m3) per day of natural gas from Joliet, Illinois, in the Chicago area, to parts of Indiana and Michigan and into Ontario, Canada. The pipeline is important in the supply and transportation of natural gas from the United States and Western Canada to the Midwest, eastern Canada and the northeastern United States, supplying power generation plants, natural gas distribution companies, and natural gas storage facilities. The pipeline also has interconnections with several other natural gas pipelines along its route.

Founded in 1954, the company serves more than two million customers in a service territory that encompasses most of the northern third of Illinois, excluding the city of Chicago. Nicor Gas has 32,000 miles (51,000 km) of pipelines.

Spectra Energy U.S. energy company

Spectra Energy Corp, headquartered in Houston, Texas, operated in three key areas of the natural gas industry: transmission and storage, distribution, and gathering and processing. Spectra was formed in late 2006 from the spin-off from Duke Energy. Spectra owned the Texas Eastern Pipeline (TETCo), a major natural gas pipeline which brings gas from the Gulf of Mexico coast in Texas to the New York City area, which was one of the largest pipeline systems in the United States. Spectra also operated three oil pipelines. In February 2017, Spectra Energy merged into the Canadian company Enbridge.

Dominion Energy American energy company

Dominion Energy, Inc., commonly referred to as Dominion, is a North American power and energy company headquartered in Richmond, Virginia that supplies electricity in parts of Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina and supplies natural gas to parts of Utah, West Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. Dominion also has generation facilities in Indiana, Illinois, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.

Southern LNG is a re-gasification facility on Elba Island, in Chatham County, Georgia, five miles downstream from Savannah, Georgia. The initial authorization for the Elba Island facility was issued in 1972. LNG shipments ceased during the first half of 1980. On March 16, 2000, the project received Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) authorization to re-commission and renovate the LNG facilities.

The Rockies Express Pipeline is a 1,679-mile (2,702 km) long high-pressure natural gas pipeline system from the Rocky Mountains of Colorado to eastern Ohio. The pipeline system consists of three sections running through eight states. It is one of the largest natural gas pipelines ever built in North America.

The Jordan Cove Energy Project was a proposal by Calgary-based energy company Pembina to build a liquefied natural gas export terminal within the International Port of Coos Bay, Oregon. The natural gas would have been transported to the terminal by the Pacific Connector Gas Pipeline. The proposal has been met with objections from landowners, Tribes, and commercial entities since 2010 and was cancelled in late 2021.

Ruby Pipeline

The Ruby Pipeline is a 42-inch (1,100 mm) natural gas pipeline running from Opal, Wyoming, to Malin, Oregon. The route crosses Northern Utah, and Northern Nevada. Ruby Pipeline, L.L.C. filed an application with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) on January 27, 2009, authorizing the construction and operation of the Ruby Pipeline Project. On April 5, 2010, the FERC approved the application. Construction began on July 31, 2010, and the pipeline was placed in service on July 28, 2011. The pipe is 680 miles (1,090 km) long with an expected capacity of 1.5 billion cubic feet per day.
