Horst Niehaus (born 23 July 1968) is a Costa Rican swimmer. He competed in three events at the 1988 Summer Olympics. [1] [2]
Robert Adriaan van der Horst is a Dutch former field hockey player who played as a defender and currently the assistant coach of the first men's team of Oranje-Rood.
Athletes from East Germany and West Germany competed together as the United Team of Germany for the last time at the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. 337 competitors, 275 men and 62 women, took part in 159 events in 19 sports.
Germany was represented at the 1956 Summer Olympics by a United Team of Germany of athletes from the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG) and, for the first time at Summer Games, also from East Germany which had not joined in 1952. Also, the Saarland athletes who had to enter as a separate team in 1952 could now join in even though the accession of their state was not yet in effect. Thus, this was the only Olympic team ever to comprise athletes from three German states.

It was the first time that East Germany and West Germany sent separate teams to the Summer Olympic Games. 275 competitors, 232 men and 43 women, took part in 154 events in 17 sports for West Germany. As the country hosted the next Olympics in Munich, the West German flag was raised at the closing ceremony.

There she won the silver medal in the women's individual road race, losing to the Netherlands' Monique Knol in the sprint. She was born in Bocholt, North Rhine-Westphalia.
Laima Zilporytė is a retired female cyclist, who trained at Dynamo sports society in Panevėžys and represented the USSR at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea. There she won the bronze medal in the women's individual road race, after being defeated in the sprint by the Netherlands' Monique Knol and West Germany's Jutta Niehaus.

Horst Effertz is a retired German rower who won a gold medal in the coxed fours at the 1960 Summer Olympics. Four years later he competed in the coxless fours and finished in sixth place. Effertz won two European titles in 1959 and 1964 and finished second in 1958.

Eva Prawitz Faber was a German pair skater and ice dancer. With partner Otto Weiß, she finished eighth at the 1936 Winter Olympics and won the gold medal at the German Figure Skating Championships in 1937. Prawitz later married fellow skater Horst Faber, and together they won the ice dancing championship at the 1950 German Nationals. Prawitz died on 14 August 2013, at the age of 92.
