2009 Elections for the City of Houston took place on May 9, June 12, and November 3, 2009. All City Council Posts, the City Controller, and the Mayor all had elections. All positions are non-partisan.

Houston City in Texas, United States

Houston is the most populous city in the U.S. state of Texas and the fourth most populous city in the United States, with a census-estimated population of 2.312 million in 2017. It is the most populous city in the Southern United States and on the Gulf Coast of the United States. Located in Southeast Texas near Galveston Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, it is the seat of Harris County and the principal city of the Greater Houston metropolitan area, which is the fifth most populous metropolitan statistical area (MSA) in the United States and the second most populous in Texas after the Dallas-Fort Worth MSA. With a total area of 627 square miles (1,620 km2), Houston is the eighth most expansive city in the United States. It is the largest city in the United States by total area, whose government is similarly not consolidated with that of a county or borough. Though primarily in Harris County, small portions of the city extend into Fort Bend and Montgomery counties.

Peter Hoyt Brown American politician

Peter Hoyt Brown is a politician who held office as an at-large Council Member in the city of Houston, Texas. Known locally as "Peter Brown," he was a candidate for the 2009 Houston Mayoral race, to succeed then Mayor Bill White who vacated the position due to term limits. Although an independent poll conducted by 11 News/ KUHF Houston Public Radio poll in late October 2009, showed Brown holding the lead in the Mayor's race with a nine-point lead over his nearest opponent, he was eliminated in the November 3, 2009 election.

Annise Parker American politician

Annise Danette Parker is an American politician who served as the 61st Mayor of Houston, Texas, from 2010 until 2016. She also served as an at-large member of the Houston City Council from 1998 to 2003 and city controller from 2004 to 2010.

The Democratic candidate, Bill de Blasio, won election with 77% of the vote against 18% for the Republican nominee, Alex Zablocki, 3.6% for the Conservative nominee, William Lee, and 1.7% for two others.

The 2007 Elections of the city of Houston took place on May 12, 2007, June 16, 2007 and November 6, 2007. All City Council Posts, the City Controller, and the Mayor all had elections. All positions were non-partisan.

2013 Los Angeles mayoral election

The 2013 Los Angeles mayoral election was held on March 5, 2013, to elect the mayor of Los Angeles. No candidate received a majority of the primary votes to be elected outright, and the top two finishers, Eric Garcetti and Wendy Greuel advanced to a runoff vote. On May 21, 2013, Garcetti was elected mayor with a majority of the votes in the runoff.

2013 Pittsburgh mayoral election

The 2013 Pittsburgh mayoral election took place on November 5, 2013. Democrat Bill Peduto was elected the 60th Mayor of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The primary election was held on May 21, 2013. Incumbent Democratic Mayor Luke Ravenstahl, although eligible for a second full term, did not seek reelection as Mayor of Pittsburgh.

The 2013 elections for Borough Presidents were held on November 5, 2013, and coincided with elections for Mayor, Public Advocate, Comptroller, and members of the New York City Council. Primary elections were held on September 10, 2013.

2014 San Jose mayoral election

The 2014 San Jose mayoral election was held on June 3, 2014 to elect the Mayor of San Jose, California. Councilmember Sam Liccardo defeated Santa Clara County Supervisor Dave Cortese in a runoff on November 4, 2014.

2015 Salt Lake City mayoral election

The 2015 Salt Lake City mayoral election took place on November 3, 2015, to elect the Mayor of Salt Lake City, Utah. The election was held concurrently with various other local elections, and was officially nonpartisan.

2016 Batangas local elections

Local elections will held in the Province of Batangas on May 9, 2016 as part of the 2016 general election. Voters will select candidates for all local positions: a town mayor, vice mayor and town councilors, as well as members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, the vice-governor, governor and for the six districts of Batangas.

2016 San Diego City Council election

The 2016 San Diego City Council election occurred on Tuesday, November 8, 2016. The primary election was held on Tuesday, June 7, 2016. Five of the nine seats were contested. Two incumbents ran for reelection.

2016 Pampanga local elections

Local elections was held in the Province of Pampanga on May 9, 2016 as part of the 2016 general election. 2018 Maryland county executive elections

The Maryland county executive elections of 2018 will take place on November 6, 2018, with the primary election occurring on June 26, 2018.

2012 San Diego primary election

The June 2012 San Diego primary elections were on June 5, 2012, in San Diego, California. A two-round system was used for the election, starting with a primary in June followed by a November runoff election between the top-two candidates if no candidate received a majority of the votes in the first round.
