How the World Is Losing Poets (Czech : Jak svět přichází o básníky) is a Czechoslovak comedy film directed by Dušan Klein, based on the novella Amatéři. Jak přichází svět o básníky by Ladislav Pecháček. It was released in 1982. [1] The first of the "Poets hexalogy", the title is followed by How Poets Are Losing Their Illusions (1985), How Poets Are Enjoying Their Lives (1988), Konec básníků v Čechách (1993), Jak básníci neztrácejí naději (2004), and Jak básníci čekají na zázrak (2016). [2] The film stars Pavel Kříž, David Matásek, and Miroslava Šafránková.
Štepán Šafránek, a high school student with poetic talent, and his friend Kendy, a musician, agree to write and perform a musical play. They rope in various residents of their small town, including Borůvka, a young girl to whom Šafránek ultimately loses his virginity.
The Alfréd Radok Awards were presented annually by the Endowment for the Alfréd Radok Awards in collaboration with the theatre and literary agency Aura-Pont and the magazine Svět a Divadlo for achievements in Czech theatre, starting in 1992. The category of Best Performance was the first created. In 1995, the categories Best Play, Best Stage Design, Talent of the Year, Theatre of the Year, Best Actor, and Best Actress were created. The winners were selected by vote by theatre critics. 2013 was the last year the award ceremony was held. It was followed in 2014 by the Ceny divadelní kritiky, awarded by Svět a Divadlo for staging categories, and Anonymní dramatická soutěž agentury Aura-Pont.

Wonderful Times is a Czech retro television series. It was produced by Dramedy Productions, whose producers Filip Bobiňski and Petr Šizling created the series with screenwriter Rudolf Merkner. The plot takes place in Czechoslovakia and is set in real historical events that influence the stories of individual characters. Authors wanted to evoke atmosphere of the time with excerpts from Czechoslovak film weeklies of the time with original comments, by new historicizing commentary narrated by Vladimír Fišer, or by period music.
