Hoçë e Madhe (Serbian Cyrillic : Велика Хоча) is a village in the municipality of Rahovec, in Kosovo. The village has 411 inhabitants, of whom 5 are ethnic Albanians and 406 are Serbs according to the 2011 census. [1]
It is situated in the historical region of Metohija (Dukagjin) and is one of the oldest settlements. It was given as metochion by Stefan Nemanja to Hilandar in 1198–99 ( Charter of Hilandar ). [2]
The main economic activity is viticulture.
The village is noted for its 13 Serbian Orthodox churches, some dating from the 12th century and reign of Serbian Grand Prince Stefan Nemanja, others from the 14th to 16th centuries.
Vuk Branković was a Serbian medieval nobleman who, during the Fall of the Serbian Empire, inherited a province that extended over present-day southern and southwestern Serbia, entire Kosovo, the northern part of present-day Republic of North Macedonia, and northern Montenegro. His fief was known as Oblast Brankovića or simply as Vukova zemlja, which he held with the title of gospodin, under Prince Lazar of Serbia. After the Battle of Kosovo (1389), Vuk was briefly the de facto most powerful Serbian lord.

Radič also known as Radich Postupovich was a Serbian nobleman that had the title of Grand Čelnik, the highest dignitary after the Serbian monarch. He began his service under Prince, later Despot, Stefan Lazarević as čelnik, then was elevated to Grand Čelnik during the rule of Despot Đurađ Branković. He was very wealthy, and held the silver mines in Novo Brdo of the Serbian Despotate. Radič founded and renovated several churches and monasteries which still exist, including the notable Vraćevšnica and Kastamonitou. He took monastic vows and became a monk in Kastamonitou where he spent his last years.
Doksim Mihailović was a Macedonian Serb voivode, originally a teacher, who joined the Serbian Chetnik Organization to fight in Ottoman Macedonia, and then the Balkan Wars. Originally a teacher, he fought against the Ottomans army and later Bulgarian guerrilla bands in the Kosovo Vilayet.
