Husby is a locality situated in Hedemora Municipality, Dalarna County, Sweden.

History

The village of Husby had a population of 256 inhabitants in 2010. It is the site of Husby Church (Husby kyrka). It is also the location of the historic manor houses, Husby kungsgård and Näs kungsgård which are on the Husbyringen cultural trail. [1] [2] [3]

Husby Church dates from the first half of the 13th century, but gained much of its present form at the time of an extension in 1779–1782. [4]

Husby kungsgård was a former royal estate dating into the 13th century. The current building was designed in the early 18th century. [5]

Näs kungsgård was designed in 1686 by Erik Dahlbergh (1625–1703). It served as the headquarters of the Dalarna Regiment (Dalregementet) from 1683–1813. [6] [7]

Dalarna Regiment Military unit

The Dalarna Regiment, designation I 13, is a Swedish Army infantry unit that traced its origins back to the 16th century. The regiment's soldiers were originally recruited from the province of Dalarna, where it was later garrisoned. The unit was disbanded as a result of the disarmament policies set forward in the Defence Act of 2000. The regiment was re-raised as Dalarna Regiment in 2021. The unit is based in Falun.

Dalby Church Church in Dalby, Lund Municipality, Scania

Dalby Church, sometimes also called the Church of the Holy Cross in Dalby is a church in Dalby, Lund Municipality in the Swedish province of Scania. It is one of the oldest churches in Sweden. When it was built Dalby was part of Denmark, and the church was commissioned by King Sweyn II of Denmark. It was constructed during the second half of the 11th century. For six years, it served as the seat of a bishop, before the diocese was merged with the Diocese of Lund nearby. The church was built with inspiration from Hildesheim Cathedral, and masons from Hildesheim appear to have worked on its construction site.

Skansen Lejonet 1600s fortification in Sweden

Skansen Lejonet, formally Westgötha Leijon, is a redoubt on the hill Gullberg in Gothenburg, Sweden, built in 1687-92 on the site of an earlier medieval castle. It was decommissioned in 1822 and has since served a range of other purposes.

Vaxholm Church Church in Stockholm County, Sweden

Vaxholm Church is a church in central Vaxholm, Sweden. The chapel is a single-nave building built in the Neoclassical style. It was completed in 1803 according to drawings by Carl Fredrik Adelcrantz and Olof Tempelman. It replaced an earlier wooden church in Vaxholm.
