Husna was a Pakistani actress in the late 1950s to 1970s, who worked in Pakistani cinema. She made her debut in 1958 and mostly appeared in supporting roles in the films. She was the recipient of Nigar Award for Best Supporting Actress.

Career

Made her debut as a child actor with Shaukat Hussain Rizvi's Jan-e-Bahar (1958), Husna never became a top heroine and mainly played the side-heroine or vamp roles in Urdu and Punjabi films during her almost 30 years long career. Her big breakthrough came with Ajab Khan (1961), starring opposite Sudhir. [1] [2] Her other appearances include Changez Khan (1958), Nagin (1959), Rani Khan (1960), Dosti (1971) and Sabaq (1972), among other musical films. Ahmad Bashir's Neela Parbat (1969) was one of her memorable film opposite Muhammad Ali, which was an experimental film and inspired by Neo-realism. [2] [3] Her leading roles were in Honeymoon (1970) and Khamosh Nigahen (1971) opposite Kamal and Waheed Murad respectively. [4] [5] She retired after acting in more than 150 films. [4] [6]

Dosti is a 1971 Pakistani romantic musical film directed by Sharif Nayyar and produced by Ejaz Durrani who also played the leading role in the film along with Shabnam and Abdur Rahman (actor). The film was released on 7 February 1971, was Diamond jubilee success at box office. It was also released in the UK. The film was shot in Northern areas of Pakistan and the UK.

Behan Bhai is a 1968 Pakistani drama film directed by Hassan Tariq who also wrote the screenplay.

It stars Neelo in the titular role and her first leading role with Rattan Kumar in his first leading role as an adult. It also marked his second appearance in dual role in Pakistani cinema. The supporting cast includes Husna, Yousuf Khan, Nazar and Saqi. Music of the film was composed by Safdar Hussain.

Khamosh Nigahen is a 1971 Pakistani film directed by Jameel Akhtar and produced by Sheikh Abdur Rashed. It stars Waheed Murad, Rozina and Husna in leading roles.
