"I'm Better" is a song by American recording artist Missy Elliott, and features accompanying vocals by frequent production partner Lamb. [1]
In a retrospetive review of the song, Steven J. Horowitz fom Vulture found that with "I'm Better" Elliott "reemerged with what could have been a triumphant single, but it didn’t feel entirely natural to her style. Flush with sirens and tip-toeing synths, "I’m Better" loses its footing with its trap-inspired meter – more Migos than Missy." [2]
The video was co-directed by Elliott and Dave Meyers. [3] Elliot noted that she had the video in mind upon listening to the track. [4] The video took a month to rehearse owing to Elliott's wish to make it "look like art instead of just a video" [4] and for the choreography to be "challenging". [4] Rolling Stone noted the video "builds on Elliott's future-forward off-kilter aesthetic", [3] also stating that it "nods as much to sci-fi as classic, Hype Williams-era hip-hop videos". [3] Further praise from Billboard, stating the music video is a "stylized, can’t-look-away clip", and noted the "aquatic sequence is an unexpected trip". [5]
An official remix of "I'm Better" was released in May 2017. The remix featured Eve, Lil' Kim, and Trina. [6]

Melissa Arnette Elliott, better known as Missy Elliott or Misdemeanor, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer. She embarked on her music career with R&B girl group Sista in the early-mid 1990s and later became a member of the Swing Mob collective along with childhood friend and longtime collaborator Timbaland, with whom she worked on projects for American R&B acts Aaliyah, 702, Total, and SWV. Following several collaborations and guest appearances, she launched her solo career in 1997 with her debut album Supa Dupa Fly, which spawned the top 20 single "Sock It 2 Me". The album debuted at number three on the Billboard 200, the highest charting debut for a female rapper at the time.
Eve Jihan Cooper is an American rapper, singer, and actress. In 1999, she released her debut album, Let There Be Eve...Ruff Ryders' First Lady, which reached number one on the Billboard 200, making her the third female rapper to accomplish this feat, and was certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The album produced the hit singles "What Ya Want", "Love Is Blind", and "Gotta Man". "Lady Marmalade" is a song written by Bob Crewe and Kenny Nolan, originally for Nolan's disco group. The song is famous for the repeated refrain of "Voulez-vous coucher avec moi?" in French as part of the chorus, a sexually suggestive line that translates into English as: "Do you want to sleep with me?" The hip hop song samples the Knight Rider theme song, with lyrics expressing a woman's desire for oral sex and her sexual relationships with a variety of men.
