Cannibal Corpse is an American death metal band from Buffalo, New York. Formed in December 1988, the band has released fourteen studio albums, two box sets, four video albums, and two live albums. The band has had little radio or television exposure throughout its career, although a cult following began to build after the release of the 1991 album Butchered at Birth and 1992 album Tomb of the Mutilated. As of 2015, they achieved worldwide sales of two million units for combined sales of all their albums, making them the top-selling death metal band of all time.

Deathcore Fusion subgenre of death metal and metalcore

Deathcore is an extreme metal subgenre that combines death metal with metalcore. The genre consists of death metal guitar riffs, blast beats, and metalcore breakdowns. While there are some precursors to the concept of death metal fused with metalcore/hardcore elements seen in the 1990s, deathcore itself emerged in the early 2000s and gained most prominence beginning in the mid-2000s within the southwestern United States, especially Arizona and inland southern California, which are home to many notable bands and various festivals.

Erik Rutan

Erik Rutan is an American heavy metal musician and producer from New Jersey. He is the guitarist and lead vocalist of Hate Eternal and is currently filling in on lead guitar for fellow death metal band Cannibal Corpse during their 2019 tour. Rutan has also spent time with Morbid Angel and Ripping Corpse. When not performing, Rutan operates his own recording studio in Florida called Mana Recording Studios. The word "Rutan" means "square" in Sweden.

Hate Eternal American death metal band

Hate Eternal is a death metal band from St. Petersburg, Florida. The band currently consists of founding guitarist/vocalist Erik Rutan and bassist J. J. Hrubovcak. To date, Hate Eternal has released seven studio albums: Conquering the Throne (1999), King of All Kings (2002), I, Monarch (2005), Fury & Flames (2008), Phoenix Amongst the Ashes (2011), Infernus (2015), and Upon Desolate Sands (2018). All albums were produced by Rutan.

<i>Kill</i> (Cannibal Corpse album) 2006 studio album by Cannibal Corpse

Kill is the tenth studio album by American death metal band Cannibal Corpse, released on March 21, 2006. This release marks the return of guitarist Rob Barrett, who had previously played on The Bleeding and Vile. The European version of the album comes with a live DVD filmed in Strasbourg in 2004 called Hammer Smashed Laiterie. The album was produced at Mana Recording Studios by Hate Eternal guitarist Erik Rutan. It is also the first album in which the band tuned down to G# standard

Ripping Corpse was a death metal band formed in 1987 in Red Bank, New Jersey. They released one album, Dreaming with the Dead (1991), and several highly regarded demos. Members included singer Scott Ruth, guitarist Shaune Kelley, bassist David Bizzigotti, drummer Brandon Thomas. They later added future Morbid Angel guitarist Erik Rutan, who went on to form Hate Eternal. Thomas, Ruth, and Kelley went on to form Dim Mak. The band's lyrics typically were horror-themed.

Ephel Duath was an Italian avant garde metal/hardcore punk band, formed in 1998 in Padua, Italy. They have had a constantly changing line-up, with guitarist and songwriter Davide Tiso being the only original member. To date, they have released one demo, five studio albums and two remix albums. Their most recent studio album, Hemmed By Light, Shaped By Darkness, was released in 2013.

King of All Kings is the second album by Florida death metal band Hate Eternal. It was released on September 16, 2002, by Earache Records and, like their debut, produced by the band's frontman Erik Rutan.

<i>Fury & Flames</i> 2008 studio album by Hate Eternal

Fury & Flames is the fourth album by the band Hate Eternal and their debut album on Metal Blade Records worldwide and EMI Records in South America. The album features the addition of new members Shaune Kelley as second guitarist and Jade Simonetto on drums, while bass guitarist Alex Webster returns to replace Randy Piro. Cover art by Paul Romano. The album has had a lot of praise for the album's heaviness and emotion. Erik Rutan, the band's frontman, says he put a lot of emotion into the album because of the death of his friend Jared Anderson who played bass for the band.

Illud Divinum Insanus is the eighth studio album by American death metal band Morbid Angel. It was released on June 7, 2011, by independent French record label Season of Mist. It is Morbid Angel's first album since Heretic (2003), the band's longest gap to date between studio albums. This is the only Morbid Angel album to feature guitarist Destructhor and drummer Tim Yeung, making it their first not to feature Pete Sandoval, who was recovering from surgery. Phoenix Amongst The Ashes is the fifth album by the band Hate Eternal, released on May 10, 2011. Frontman Erik Rutan commented that "the band has come up with one of [their] heaviest, most twisted, evil, melodic, and insane albums yet". The album was recorded in MANA Recording Studios.

Infernaeon is an extreme metal band from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. They have released two full-length albums on Prosthetic Records entitled A Symphony of Suffering (2007) and Genesis to Nemesis (2010) and a full-length album on Black & Blue Records entitled The Cancer Within (2013). Formed in the spring of 2004 by vocalist Chris Defaut, bassist Kevin Gibbons (Strychnine), and guitarist Brian Magley, the group recorded and released their first demo entitled "Oracle of Armageddon" in Fall of 2004. They went on to gain a following in the South Florida area where they played with such bands as Response Negative, Sac, and Divine Empire.
