IV is the fourth studio album by American rock band Winger, and the first after their 1993 album Pull .
According to frontman Kip Winger, one morning he "just woke up and heard the new Winger record" in his head, knowing just what he wanted to do with it. [2] It was released in October 2006 on Frontiers Records. The album is the most musically progressive album of Winger's career. Lyrically, much of the album is sung from the perspective of U.S. soldiers stationed overseas. Kip Winger was inspired to do this after performing solo shows at U.S. military bases, and being touched by the stories of the soldiers he met.
The album cover, showing a U.S. soldier being watched over by angels, was drawn by comic book artist Ethan Van Sciver, known for his work at DC and Marvel Comics. Kip Winger was introduced to Van Sciver by a mutual friend in Florida.
In 2009 Kip Winger was presented by U.S. General Harold Cross with an honorary plaque and U.S. flag that had flown in Iraq for the song "Blue Suede Shoes", which honors the service and sacrifice of the United States armed forces and their families. [3]

Winger is an American hard rock / glam metal band. Formed in New York City, Winger gained popularity during the late 1980s and early 1990s. The band's two platinum albums, Winger and In the Heart of the Young, along with charting singles "Seventeen", "Headed for a Heartbreak" and "Miles Away", put them on the top of the charts by the early 1990s. In 1990, the band was nominated for an American Music Award for "Best New Heavy Metal Band". As the music scene changed in the early to mid-1990s due to the popularity of grunge, their success faded following their third release, Pull.
Charles Frederick Kip Winger is an American bass guitarist and singer, active as a member of the rock band Winger and as a solo artist. He initially gained notability as a member of Alice Cooper's band, contributing bass and vocals to his Constrictor and Raise Your Fist and Yell albums.

According to Kip Winger, it was one of the first four songs he and bandmate Reb Beach wrote when they first got together, based on a handful of riffs Reb had from when he was younger. Kip figured out how best to arrange the riffs, enabling the pair to complete the song.
Easy Come Easy Go is a single by American rock band Winger, from their album In the Heart of the Young. Released in 1990, the song charted at #41. According to Kip Winger the song was a late addition to the track listing, written because it was felt that there were not enough rock songs on the album. "Can't Get Enuff" came about the same way.
Winger Live is a two CD and DVD live set culled from Winger 2007 US reunion tour and directed by Jack Edward Sawyers. Kip Winger, Reb Beach, Rod Morgenstein and John Roth rip through all the hits, progressive jams and new material taken from their comeback album IV. Keyboardist Cenk Eroglu was not present for this show, despite his appearance on IV. The concert was recorded live straight through with no interruptions at the Galaxy Concert Theater in Santa Ana, California. The cover consists of a checkerboard-style grid of live still frames pulled from the video footage itself.
