Early life

Fitchuk was born in Chicago to parents who are both accomplished classical musicians and educators. [1] He grew up there. He cites Paul Simon's Graceland as being a significant musical influence from an early age. He moved to Nashville in 2000 to study jazz piano at Belmont University. He was quickly recruited to play keyboard by local band Llama, who was on MCA Records at the time. [2] After leaving the band, he began producing artists such as Amy Grant, [3] Mindy Smith, Landon Pigg, Jeremy Lister, [4] and Griffin House [5] with production partner Justin Loucks.

Career

Fitchuk is a 2x Grammy Award winning musician, producer, and songwriter. He works alongside an array of widely renowned artists, including Beyoncé, Leon Bridges, Maggie Rogers, Kacey Musgraves, Joy Olodokun, Chris Stapleton, Stephen Sanchez, Noah Kahan, Pink, and director Baz Luhrmann. In 2021, Fitchuk co-produced Sanchez’s “Until I Found You”, which has amassed 2 billion streams on Spotify alone. In 2022, Fitchuk co-wrote “Silk Chiffon” by Muna and Phoebe Bridgers as well as co-wrote and co-produced “Sweet Symphony” by Oladokun and Stapleton. Fitchuk co-produced Musgraves’ cover of “Can’t Help Falling in Love” alongside Luhrmann for the Elvis biopic in 2022. 2023 and 2024 have been transformative years for Fitchuk as he’s accumulated more than 70 cuts as a producer and writer on everything from Beyoncés Cowboy Carter to producing Kacey Musgraves Deeper Well , Rogers Don't Forget Me and multiple songs with Musgraves and Bridges on the Bob Marley film soundtrack amongst others.

Fitchuk got his start as a session musician in Nashville playing drums and keyboards on albums for artists including Shania Twain, Sam Hunt's debut album Montevallo, Lucie Silvas, Andrew Combs, Sean McConnell, Shawn Mendes, Harry Styles, and James Bay's debut album Chaos and the Calm.

In 2018 along with Nashville singer-songwriter Daniel Tashian, he co-wrote and co-produced Grammy award winner Kacey Musgraves Golden Hour. It was Musgraves' fourth studio album and released on March 30, 2018. Golden Hour earned Best Country Album and Album Of The Year honors at the 2019 Grammy awards, as well as Album Of The Year honors at the 2018 CMA awards and the 2019 ACM awards.

Country pop is a fusion genre of country music and pop music that was developed by members of the country genre out of a desire to reach a larger, mainstream audience. Country pop music blends genres like rock, pop, and country, continuing similar efforts that began in the late 1950s, known originally as the Nashville sound and later on as Countrypolitan. By the mid-1970s, many country artists were transitioning to the pop-country sound, which led to some records charting high on the mainstream top 40 and the Billboard country chart. In turn, many pop and easy listening artists crossed over to country charts during this time. After declining in popularity during the neotraditional movement of the 1980s, country pop had a comeback in the 1990s with a sound that drew more heavily on pop rock and adult contemporary. In the 2010s, country pop metamorphosized again with the addition of hip-hop beats and rap-style phrasing.
