The Korean language is an East Asian language spoken by about 77 million people. It is a member of the Koreanic language family and is the official and national language of both Koreas: North Korea and South Korea, with different standardized official forms used in each country. It is a recognised minority language in the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture and Changbai Korean Autonomous County of Jilin province, China. It is also spoken in parts of Sakhalin, Russia, and Central Asia.
The Korean War was a war between North Korea and South Korea. The war began on 25 June 1950 when North Korea invaded South Korea.
South Korea, officially the Republic of Korea is a country in East Asia, constituting the southern part of the Korean Peninsula and sharing a land border with North Korea.
A Korean name consists of a family name followed by a given name, as used by the Korean people in both South Korea and North Korea. In the Korean language, ireum or seongmyeong usually refers to the family name (seong) and given name together.

Dennis Keith Rodman is an American former professional basketball player. Rodman played for the Detroit Pistons, San Antonio Spurs, Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers, and Dallas Mavericks in the National Basketball Association (NBA). They are considered to be the first K-pop idol group and their successful formula became the model for many K-pop groups that followed them. The group consisted of five members: Moon Hee-joon, Jang Woo-hyuk, Tony An, Kangta, and Lee Jae-won.
Suwon Samsung Bluewings is a South Korean football club based in Suwon, South Korea, that plays in the K League 1. Founded in December 1995, they have won the national championship on four occasions, and the Asian Club Championship twice.
Seongnam FC is a South Korean professional football club based in Seongnam, South Korea. Seongnam plays in the K League 1, the top division in South Korea. Founded as Ilhwa Chunma Football Club in 1989, the club have won a joint-record seven national league titles, three FA Cups, three League Cups, and two AFC Champions League titles. Seongnam also placed fifth in the IFFHS Asian Clubs of the 20th century.
Jeonnam Dragons is a professional football/ soccer club based in the city of Gwangyang, South Jeolla Province, South Korea that currently plays in K League 2, the second tier of Korean football. Jeonnam play at the Gwangyang Football Stadium, nicknamed the “Dragon Dungeon”, one of the first football-specific stadiums built in South Korea. The Dragons have won the FA Cup three times in 1997, 2006, and 2007, the Asian Cup Winners’ Cup in 1999, and have finished runner up in the league once, in 1997. The club’s color is yellow, matching the dragon on the club’s crest. .
The KBO League, originally called the Korea Baseball Championship, is the highest level league of baseball in South Korea. The KBO League was founded with six franchises in 1982, and has expanded to ten franchises. Nine of the ten franchises are named after the companies or business conglomerates which own them, while one sold their naming rights. The KBO League is the most popular sports league in South Korea. The Kia Tigers are the most successful team, having won 11 out of the 38 championships.
The First Republic of Korea was the government of South Korea from August 1948 to April 1960. The First Republic was founded on 15 August 1948 after the transfer from the United States Army Military Government that governed South Korea since the end of Japanese rule in 1945, becoming the first independent capitalist republican government in Korea. Syngman Rhee became the first President of Korea following the May 1948 general election, and the National Assembly in Seoul promulgated South Korea's first constitution in July establishing a democratic presidential system of government.

Uhm Jung-hwa is a South Korean singer, actress and dancer. Nicknamed the "evergreen", Uhm is considered to be one of the most influential women in the Korean entertainment industry, with many female artists recognizing her as a role model.
Koryo-saram is the name which ethnic Koreans in the post-Soviet states use to refer to themselves. The term is composed of two constituents: "Koryo", which is one of the names of Korea, and "saram", meaning either "person/people".

The Mnet Asian Music Awards is a major South Korean music awards ceremony presented annually by entertainment company CJ E&M. The majority of prizes are awarded to K-pop artists, though some prizes are awarded to other Asian artists. The awards ceremony was first held in Seoul in 1999 and aired on Mnet. MAMA has been held outside of South Korea between 2010 and 2017 and now airs internationally.
The Korean League Cup was a South Korean professional football competition. The competition was firstly played in 1992 and was abolished after the 2012 season. The predecessor competition, the Professional Football Championship, was played in 1986.
Koreanic is a compact language family consisting of the Korean language, the language of Jeju Island and Yukchin. The latter two are often described as dialects of Korean, but are distinct enough to be considered separate languages. Korean is richly documented since the introduction of the Hangul alphabet in the 15th century. Earlier renditions of Korean using Chinese characters are much more difficult to interpret.
