The Iceland women's national handball team is the national handball team of Iceland and takes part in international team handball competitions. They qualified to the 2010 European Women's Handball Championship. This was the first time they qualified to any international championship. They finished with the 15th place. Two years later, at the 2012 European Women's Handball Championship, they managed the same results.
Second time they qualified to international championship were when they qualified to the 2011 World Women's Handball Championship.

The European Women's Handball Championship is the official competition for senior women's national handball teams of Europe, and takes place every two years. In addition to crowning the European champions, the tournament also serves as a qualifying tournament for the Olympic Games and World Championship. As of December 2024, the only teams that have ever won the championship are Norway, Denmark, Hungary, Montenegro and France.
The Egyptian national handball team is the national handball team of Egypt, which represents Egypt in international matches. It is supervised by the Egyptian Handball Federation. Egypt was the first non-European team to reach the semifinals of the World Championships, and the first African team to reach the semifinals in the Olympic tournament.

Dagný Skúladóttir is an Icelandic former team handball player. She played on the Icelandic national team, and participated at the 2011 World Women's Handball Championship in Brazil. In 2013, she was named the Úrvalsdeild kvenna Player of the Year.
Hrafnhildur Ósk Skúladóttir is an Icelandic former team handball player and the current head coach of ÍBV women's handball team. She played on the Icelandic national team and participated at the 2011 World Women's Handball Championship in Brazil.
Hanna Guðrún Stefánsdóttir is an Icelandic team handball player for Stjarnan of the Úrvalsdeild kvenna. She has won the Icelandic championship five times and the Icelandic Cup six times. She has been selected the Úrvalsdeild Player of the Year three times and led the league in scoring in 2003, 2005 and 2009. Hanna has participated in three major international tournaments with the Icelandic national team and is second all-time in both games and goals scored for the team with 458 goals in 142 games.
Ragnhildur Rósa Guðmundsdóttir is an Icelandic former team handball player. She played on the Icelandic national team and participated at the 2011 World Women's Handball Championship in Brazil.
The Keflavík women's basketball team, commonly known as Keflavík, is the women's basketball department of Keflavík ÍF, based in the town of Reykjanesbær in Iceland. It is Iceland's most successful women's basketball team with 17 national championship. They currently play in Úrvalsdeild kvenna where they won the national championship in 2017. The club has won the Icelandic Basketball Cup a record fifteen times, including in 2017 and 2018.
The KR women's basketball team, commonly known as KR, is the women's basketball department of Knattspyrnufélag Reykjavíkur and is based in Reykjavík, Iceland. It is the second winningest team in Úrvalsdeild kvenna history with 14 Icelandic championships, the last coming in 2010.
The ÍBV women's handball team is the women's handball department of ÍBV-íþróttafélag. As of the 2017-2018 season, they play in the Úrvalsdeild kvenna.
The Valur women's handball team, commonly known as Valur, is the women's handball department of the Knattspyrnufélagið Valur multi-sport club. It has won the Icelandic championship 17 times.
