Ilze Vergina (born July 15,1969) is a Latvian educator and politician. She has served as a member of the 10th and 11th Saeima. Currently,she is a member of the 14th Saeima,representing the party "New Unity".
Vergina graduated from Dzērbene Secondary School in 1987. From 1987 to 1992,she studied at the University of Liepāja,where she obtained a qualification as a Latvian language and literature teacher. In 1996,she earned a Master's degree in Philology from University of Liepāja.
From 1994 to 1999,Vergina worked as a teacher at Vecpiebalga Regional Gymnasium. She then served as a teacher and deputy director for upbringing at Smiltene 2nd Secondary School until 2002,when she became the school's director (since 2005 known as Smiltene Central Secondary School). She also led the Smiltene branch of the Baltic International Academy. [1]
In 2004,Vergina began leading the Smiltene branch of the party "New Era." In 2008,she left the party along with several regional representatives. [2] In April 2008,she was elected to the board of the "Civic Union." [3]
In the 2005 Latvian local elections ,she was elected to the Smiltene City Council from the "New Era" list. [4] She was the deputy chair of the council. In the 2009 local elections ,she was elected to the Smiltene District Council from the "Civic Union" list. [5] She was also elected to the Smiltene District Council in the 2013 Latvian municipal elections,this time from the "Unity" list. [6]
In 2010,she was elected to the 10th Saeima from the "Unity" list. [7] She ran in the 2011 parliamentary elections but was not elected. In July 2014,she obtained a mandate as a deputy in the 11th Saeima,replacing a member elected to the European Parliament. [8] [9]
In 2022,she ran in the 2022 parliamentary elections from the "New Unity" list but was not elected. [10] However,she soon became a member of the 14th Saeima,with Arturs Krišjānis Kariņš becoming the Prime Minister.
The Latvian Social Democratic Workers' Party is a social-democratic political party in Latvia and the second oldest existing Latvian political party after the Latvian Farmers' Union. It is currently represented with two seats in the parliament of Latvia as a part of the Union of Greens and Farmers alliance after an absence of 20 years. The party tends to hold a less Russophilic view than fellow social-democratic party "Harmony".

She was previously a member of parliament,civil society activist,journalist and the chairperson of the Board of Transparency International Latvia. Lolita Cigane was first elected to the 10th Saeima (parliament) in 2010. She served a full term as a Member of Parliament in the 11th Saeima (2011–2014),was the parliamentary secretary of the Ministry of Finance in 2013-2014 and a member of 12th Saeima,serving also as the chair of the European Affairs Committee until November 2018. The Liepāja Party is a localist political party in Latvia. It operates in the city of Liepāja,where its chairman,Uldis Sesks,was mayor from 1997 to 2018. The party has an agreement with the Union of Greens and Farmers allowing party members to be elected in the Saeima,including current members Māris Kučinskis,Valdis Skujiņšand Aija Barča.

Ilze Indriksone is a Latvian environmental planner and politician representing the National Alliance (NA) party. From May 2022 to September 2023,she served as the Minister of Economics. She was a member of the 13th Saeima and during that term,she was parliamentary secretary of the Ministry of Economy and deputy chairman of the Talsi Municipal Council. Indriksone is also member of the board of the Pedvale Open Air Museum. In 2022,Indriksone was elected in the 14th Saeima.
