Impulse Voices is the second studio album by Australian guitarist Plini.
Impulse Voices was composed, produced, arranged and mixed by Plini, and recorded in his own bedroom studio. [2] Other members participating in the album include Chris Allison on drums and Simon Grove on bass, both of whom worked remotely and separately due to COVID, [3] with additional production by Devesh Dayal of Indian/American progressive metal band Skyharbor [4] and Aleksandra Djelmash, along with guests Dave Mackay on piano & synthesizer, John Waugh on saxophone, Amy Turk on electro-acoustic harp. [5]
While the album was recorded from March to May 2020, it was initially scheduled for release the following month, followed in July by touring in Europe and the United States, but due to the pandemic, the tour was cancelled, recording time was extended, and the album was not mastered until October. [6]
Impulse Voices was released on November 27, 2020. Over a month prior, on October 8, 2020, the album's first single was released and streamed, titled "I'll Tell You Someday". [7] [8]
A remix EP was made for Impulse Voices and streamed in May 2021. [9]
Plini supported the album with a three-day tour in Australia, from July 15 to 17, 2021. [10]

Guided by Voices (GBV) is an American indie rock band formed in 1983 in Dayton, Ohio. It has made frequent personnel changes but always maintained the presence of principal songwriter Robert Pollard. The most well-known lineup of the band consisted of Pollard, his brother Jim, Mitch Mitchell, Tobin Sprout, Kevin Fennell (drums), and bassist Greg Demos. Noted at first for its lo-fi aesthetic and Portastudio four-tracks-to-cassette production methods, Guided by Voices' music was influenced by early post–British Invasion garage rock, psychedelic rock, progressive rock, punk rock and post-punk. The band has had a prolific output, releasing 35+ full-length albums along with many other releases, and has garnered a dedicated cult following. Their songs are known for their frequent brevity and for ending abruptly or intertwining with homemade sound effects.

Karnivool is an Australian progressive metal band formed in Perth, Western Australia in 1998. The group currently consists of Ian Kenny on vocals, Drew Goddard and Mark Hosking on guitar, Jon Stockman on bass, and Steve Judd on drums. Karnivool emerged from a band Kenny and Goddard formed during high school. They have released three studio albums to date, the most recent of which (Asymmetry) was released in 2013.
The Amenta are an Australian extreme metal band formed in 1997 as Crucible of Agony. By 2002 the line-up was Cesium 137 on lead vocals, Diazanon on drums, Ethion on guitar, Endrin on bass guitar and Chlordane on keyboards. Twelve Foot Ninja are an Australian heavy metal band from Melbourne, Victoria. They released their debut album Silent Machine in 2012. The band consists of Kin (vocals), Russ (drums), Stevic, and Rohan. They won Best New Talent at the 2014 Revolver Golden Gods Awards as well as two listener-voted awards from SiriusXM's Liquid Metal the year before. The band broke a world record for the most amount crowdfunded for a music video. Their first headline tour of Europe in April 2017 sold out five of the seven UK shows. In mid 2022, the band announced an "indefinite hiatus". Although, they are working on an acoustic album of Twelve Foot Ninja material. The release date is yet to be announced.
Northlane are an Australian heavy metal band from Blacktown, formed in 2009. The band comprises guitarists Jon Deiley and Josh Smith, drummer Nic Pettersen and vocalist Marcus Bridge. Northlane have released six studio albums: Discoveries ; Singularity, which reached No. 3 on the ARIA Albums Chart; Node, a number-one album; Mesmer, Alien and Obsidian. At the ARIA Music Awards of 2015 the group won the Best Hard Rock or Heavy Metal Album category for their album Node. At the ARIA Music Awards of 2017, the band won again with Mesmer. The band won the Best Hard Rock or Heavy Metal Album category for the third time at the ARIA Music Awards of 2019 for their 2019 album Alien.

Plini Roessler-Holgate, known mononymously as Plini, is an Australian guitarist and songwriter. He began his career by releasing music under the name Halcyon, before switching to the use of his first name. Steve Vai described him as "the future of exceptional guitar playing", and the website MusicRadar named Plini the best prog guitarist of 2017.

Hey, I'm Just Like You is the ninth studio album by Canadian indie pop duo Tegan and Sara, released via Sire Records on September 27, 2019. The album contains re-recordings of unreleased demo songs that the duo recorded as teenagers, and marks a partial return to their original rock-influenced sound. The lead single, "I'll Be Back Someday", was released on July 25, 2019. The second single "Don't Believe the Things They Tell You " was released on September 20, 2019. It was released three days after the publication of their memoir, High School. Upon release, the album received generally favorable reviews.
Uniform is an American industrial metal and noise rock band, formed in 2013 in New York City by vocalist Michael Berdan and guitarist Ben Greenberg. The current lineup of the band also features Mike Sharp on drums.
