Independence and Mango Creek are adjacent villages in the Stann Creek District of Belize. For the purposes of the census, they are counted as one community. In 2010, Independence and Mango Creek had a combined population of 4,014 people. It is a relatively large village compared to its surrounding communities. [1] It contains 2 primary schools, one secondary school and one college which hosts students from the surrounding communities, and provides access to the only mainland bay. [2]

The modern communities of Indian Church and San Filipe are in close proximity to KaʼKabish, and the Mennonite community of Blue Creek is slightly further afield. A road connecting Indian Church to San Filipe separates the site into two areas, the North Complex and the South Complex.

Independence Airport, also known as Savannah Airport or Mango Creek Airport, is an airport serving Independence and Mango Creek, a coastal community straddling the border between Toledo and Stann Creek Districts in Belize. The airport runs along the Independence Highway, 4 kilometres (2 mi) inland from the coast.

Bella Vista is the largest village in the Toledo District of Belize. According to the 2010 census, Bella Vista had a population of 3,508 people. It is located ten miles south-west of Independence and Mango Creek and fifty miles north of Punta Gorda the district's capital. Its neighbouring village is San Isidro which is considerably smaller.
