Kabaddi Contact team sport popular in South Asia

Kabaddi is a contact team sport. Played between two teams of seven players, the objective of the game is for a single player on offence, referred to as a "raider", to run into the opposing team's half of a court, touch out as many of their defenders as possible, and return to their own half of the court, all without being tackled by the defenders, and in a single breath. Points are scored for each player tagged by the raider, while the opposing team earns a point for stopping the raider. Players are taken out of the game if they are touched or tackled, but are brought back in for each point scored by their team from a tag or tackle.

Kho kho Traditional Indian tag game played in teams

Kho-Kho is a traditional Indian sport, being one of the oldest outdoor sports dating back to ancient India. It is the second most popular traditional tag game in the Indian subcontinent after Kabaddi. Kho-Kho is played on a rectangular court with a central line drawn between two poles which are at either end of the court. During the game, nine players from the chasing team are on the field, with eight of them sitting on their knees at the central line, while three "runners" from the defending team run around the court and try to avoid being touched by members of the chasing team. Each kneeling player on the chasing team sits facing alternating directions from the central line.

Santosh Trophy Association football tournament in India

The Santosh Trophy, officially known as Hero Senior Men's National Football Championship due to sponsorship ties with Hero MotoCorp, is a knock-out semi-professional football competition contested by the state associations and government institutions under the All India Football Federation (AIFF), the sport's governing body in India. Before the starting of the first national club league, the National Football League in 1996, the Santosh Trophy was considered the top domestic honour in India. Many players who have represented India internationally, played and gained honour while playing in the Santosh Trophy. The tournament is held every year with 37 teams, who are divided into five zones, must play in the qualifying round and progress into the tournament proper. The current champions are Kerala, who won their seventh title during the 2021–2022 edition.

Divya Singh is former captain of the Indian National Women's Basketball Team. Singh led the Indian women's basketball team at the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games. She is known for her game skills, leadership qualities, academic strength and personality. She has done sports management at the University of Delaware, Newark, Delaware, (UD) in the year 2008 to 2010 and worked as a Women's basketball assistant coach for UD. She was assistant coach of the Under 16 Indian Men's basketball team which participated in Vietnam 2011. She was the assistant coach of the Indian Men's team when India won the bronze medal in Lusophony Games in Goa. She was also a part of the Indian National Women's Basketball Team as an assistant coach in the 17th Asian Games Incheon 2014.

The All India Chess Federation for the Blind (AICFB) is the governing body for the game of Chess among visually impaired in India. It was formed in 1997 with a view to promoting the game of chess among the visually impaired all over the country. Pratima Singh is a member of the India women's national basketball team, hailing from Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh. Pratima Singh was born on 6 February 1990 in the Shivpur area in the holy city of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. Indian National Basketball Championship for Women is a professional basketball tournament in India for women. This tournament is held by the Basketball Federation of India. The 61st Championship was held in New Delhi in 2011. 23 states teams participated in this tournament.

Appoorva Muralinath Indian baseball player

Appoorva Muralinath is an Indian basketball player and coach. She was an active athlete from 2005-2017. She played on the India women's national basketball team from 2010-2015. She is a power forward/Center. She is the daughter of K. Muralinath who played for the Indian National Men's Basketball Team in the 1982 Asian Games.

Amjyot Singh Gill is an Indian professional basketball player. He has previously played for the Tokyo Excellence of the National Basketball Development League (NBDL) and the Delhi Capitals of the UBA Pro Basketball League. With the Excellence, he and Amritpal Singh became the first Indian males to sign a professional basketball contract abroad.
