Indirapuram is an established residential locality in Ghaziabad, divided into various khands, such as Vaibhav Khand, Abhay Khand, Ahinsa Khand, Nyay Khand, Gyan Khand, Niti Khand, and Shakti Khand. Situated along Delhi-Meerut Expressway, [1] the locality is surrounded by prominent areas of Vasundhara, Pratap Vihar, Vaishali, as well as Noida Sectors 62 & 63. Indirapuram comes under the Sahibabad assembly constituency in the Uttar Pradesh state assembly.

The locality is just 5 km away from two Blue Line metro stations of Vaishali and Noida Electronic City. [2] [3] The city is around 7 km away from the Sahibabad RRTS station. The proposed Blue Line extension from Noida Electronic City to Mohan Nagar in Ghaziabad would pass through Indirapuram, strengthening metro network in the locality.

History

Indirapuram was founded on 28 February 1996, [5] as a sub-city to Delhi. The black foundation stone (Kala Pathar) was inaugurated by the Late Shri Motilal Vora, then Governor of Uttar Pradesh. The foundation stone became the starting point of today's Kala Pathar Road. Indirapuram is named after Late Indira Gandhi, former Prime Minister of India.

The inauguration of the Indirapuram Residential Project was completed at Build Tech Park and was attended by the following officials of the Ghaziabad Development Authority:

Build Tech Park is now known as Kala Pathar Park which is located in Nyay Khand 2.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Delhi–Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System</span> Under-construction and partially operational regional transit system in India

The Delhi–Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System is a partially operational 82.15 km (51.05 mi)-long semi high-speed rail and regional transit corridor that will connect the National Capital Region (NCR) cities of Delhi, Ghaziabad and Meerut. It is the first of the four rapid rail corridors planned under the first phase of the RapidX project managed by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC). Designed to allow a maximum speed of 180 km/h (110 mph), the distance between Delhi and Meerut will be covered in less than 60 minutes. The project is being executed at a cost of 30,274 crore (US$3.6 billion). It will start from Jangpura as the starting station, run through Sarai Kale Khan, the terminal for the three planned corridors, both in Delhi, and end in Modipuram in Meerut. It will have 16 stations and two depots at Duhai and Modipuram.

Vijay Nagar is a major residential, industrial and commercial area in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. It was developed with assistance of the Ghaziabad Development Authority. The suburb is located at the junction of Noida, Greater Noida, Crossings Republik, Pratap Vihar and Indirapuram. Vijay Nagar is known for its educational institutes, industrial areas, the Ghaziabad Junction Railway Station, the Meerut Expressway, NH-24 and the Vishwakarma Road. The area has witnessed rampant growth in infrastructure and civic development. Vijay Nagar is closely linked with the adjoining Pratap Vihar area having a residential area, upcoming real estate projects and the Santosh Medical & Dental College, a part of Santosh University.The adjoining Bhur Bharat Nagar is close to Ghaziabad Railway Station, the nearest railway station that serves this area.

Sahibabad RRTS station is an elevated terminal RRTS station in the Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh, India which will serve for higher-speed trains on the Delhi–Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System that can reach speeds of up to 180 km/h. The station is powered by solar energy, with 1,100 solar panels on the station's roof.

The Ghaziabad–Jewar Regional Rapid Transit System is a proposed 72.44 km (45.01 mi)-long semi high-speed rail and regional transit corridor that will connect the National Capital Region (NCR) cities of Ghaziabad, Noida and Noida International Airport at Jewar. It is the fourth of the four rapid rail corridors planned under the first phase of the RapidX project managed by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC). It will be built to allow a maximum speed of 180 km/h (110 mph), and the distance between Ghaziabad, Noida and its airport will be covered in less than 40–50 minutes. The project will be executed at a cost of around 20,640 crore (US$2.5 billion). It will start from Ghaziabad as the starting station, run through Noida, Greater Noida, YEIDA City and end in Jewar Airport at Jewar. It will have 12 stations and two depots on both the northern and southern ends of the corridor.
