Customer lifecycle management or CLM is the measurement of multiple customer-related metrics, which, when analyzed for a period of time, indicate performance of a business. The overall scope of the CLM implementation process encompasses all domains or departments of an organization, which generally brings all sources of static and dynamic data, marketing processes, and value added services to a unified decision supporting platform through iterative phases of customer acquisition, retention, cross and up-selling, and lapsed customer win-back.

History

Infusionsoft was founded in 2001 by brothers Scott and Eric Martineau and Clate Mask. [14] The company began as a start-up in Mesa, Arizona with an office next to a mattress store. [14] [15] [16] In 2004, the company wrote a script to automate sales leads, which became the foundation of Infusionsoft’s SaaS product range. [14]

Clate Mask is an entrepreneur and co-founder and CEO of Infusionsoft, which makes small business sales and marketing automation software. Mask co-authored Conquer the Chaos, a New York Times best-selling book. Mask has made contributions writing about entrepreneurship for VentureBeat, Entrepreneur and Fast Company.

Infusionsoft’s revenues increased 50% between 2011 and 2012. [17] [18] By January 2013, Infusionsoft had raised $71 million in venture capital with $54 million invested by Goldman Sachs. [8] [9] [10] [17] [19] Later that month, Infusionsoft purchased GroSocial, a social media marketing software company. [10] [19] [20] [21] [22]

In 2014, Infusionsoft concluded its Series D funding led by Bain Capital Ventures that generated an additional $55 million. In total, the company has raised over $125 million. [13] [23]

Bain Capital Ventures LLC is the venture capital division within Bain Capital, which has approximately $105 billion of assets under management worldwide. The firm's early-stage investments have included Staples, LinkedIn, Kiva Systems, Jet.com and Shopping.com. Bain Capital Ventures manages $4.9 billion of committed capital, has over 70 active portfolio companies, and has offices in Boston, New York City, Palo Alto, and San Francisco.

On the 29th of January 2019, a company press release stated it has rebranded the company as Keap.[ citation needed ]

Company overview

Infusionsoft offers an integrated email marketing platform designed for small businesses with fewer than 25 employees. [9] [14] [24] Specific features of the platform include lead scoring, web tracking, and social media tools. [9] [10] [17] [22]

The company is now based in a 90,000 square foot facility with a small football field in the facility’s center and a cereal bar for employees. [14] [15] [25] Infusionsoft has a customer base of 25,000 and 87,000 software users. [1] The company operates an additional office in Lehi, Utah that it opened in June 2014. [26]

Infusionsoft hosts events such as InfusionCon, an annual conference for small businesses. [24] [27] Around 2000 people attended the conference in 2012. [24] The event was renamed ICON in 2014 for its eighth annual conference held in Phoenix, which had over 3000 attendees. [28] In 2015, Infusionsoft hosted the Main Street Forum in New York City that included attendees such as executives from American Express, OnDeck, Mashable, Wall Street Journal and other companies. Infusionsoft offers a subscription based all-in-one sales and marketing SaaS product for small businesses with fewer than 25 employees. [5] [6] [24] [30] [31] [32] [33] The integrated platform lets users manage their small business by pulling together data points related to sales, marketing, leads, payments, customers, and more. [5] [30] [32] [33]

The platform can create and host Web forms and links, execute automated campaigns and track ROIs, provides real-time customer updates for sales, lets users manage customer databases, and includes e-commerce functionality letting users manage shopping carts, product pages, dynamic discounts and coupon codes. [5] [30] [32] [33]

Infusionsoft also offers contact management apps for mobile devices. In April 2012, Infusionsoft opened a marketplace that includes more than 70 apps compatible with its software suites that incorporate tools such as SMB text messaging. [30] The GroSocial system that Infusionsoft acquired in 2013 was integrated into the CRM, e-commerce and marketing automation tools to allow small businesses to use social media platforms to grow customer base. Infusionsoft was named by Inc. as a 2013 Hire Power Awardee and ranked number 4 in the software category with over 240 jobs created in a year. [4] [11] Infusionsoft has been honored as an Inc. 500/5000 list of fastest growing private company 7 times as of 2013. [12] Inc. also ranked the company #47 on its list of Top 100 Arizona Companies and #44 on its list of companies in the Phoenix metro. [12]

Goldman Sachs selected CEO Clate Mask as one of its Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs of 2013. [34] Mask has been recognized for his leadership and was also chosen as an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year finalist, a Top 100 Small Business Influencer by Small Business Trends, CEO of the Year by the Phoenix Business Journal's Arizona Corporate Excellence Awards, and Business Leader of the Year by the Arizona Technology Council. Infusionsoft offers partnerships to digital marketing agencies and consultants. Some of its successful partners are Stephanie Nickolich, NitroGo, Start Tower Systems, Howdy Interactive, Monster Squad, GetUWired, Mit-Mut, PixPro, Bella Web Design and Scale Up Marketing.

Partners are offered up to 30% commission on sales, new revenue streams, coaching on sales funnels and growth plans, build app integration, plug-in or connection and exposure to more than 30,000 small businesses. Infusionsoft has skills training for business owners, consultants and sales representatives to learn automation and execute marketing strategies.
